Default Better hook ups with big spoonsRT

RT and the board im new at computers but not to fishing. We have found out after many years for better hook ups for Alvins ,clancy and other big upriver spoons we use the following remove hook add a size6 split ring of good quality add #6 barrel swivel another split ring and then the hook. This does two things that are very important puts hook back but most important as you fight that nook as he twist and turns your spoon can never pull against your hook. It rotates 360 degrees i hope this will help.

Thanks 'Tub. Would you tell us what the size & type of hook is best for that? And what size & color Alvins do you like best. Hope I'm not asking too much, but if you don't mind sharing, will you tell us how you like to tune your Alvins when bending the lower lip for different currents. Thanks much! - RT

I appricate the openess of this BB so i dont mind helping a few more uprivers get caught. First thing Buy!!! salmon trout steelheader latest issue read and read it again. It took us 20 years of fishing to be a 10%er.You can attached a siawash to the end on a swivel make sure its tight (open siawash) that is. nexth you can use triple hook to split ring as i said in origonal post. remember the faster the water bigger the hook. as for color i use blue early then green eyes then red and green dots. Most of all have confidence in your rig.As for tunning i will only say slow is better than fast E mail me for more on tunning silverspoon99@iwon.com
