Default Summer metalhead float

I picked up a new pontoon boat and want to try it out and float a river?
I was wondering if the Nestucca would be a good choice? RT what do you suggest?

Hi Mike. You're going to love it. It's the only thing I'd try floating on the coastal rivers right now, accept my flyline . You will have to drag it in many spots, but that is easy with these. Better to try any of many Cascade rivers to get a good feel for how it handles; in an easy stretch first, then have at the big stuff if you got a good boat and lifevest. The lower Clackamas would be a good place to practice rowing it, and there should be a few late summers in the lower end yet and silvers in about a month or less. Post or e-mail me with your boat specifics, and how you do with it. - Steve
