Thanks for the compliments about our BB Bob. There are also a lot of good people on that BB, and it's unfortunate that a few bad apples have crept in there. I'm sure Bob B. will mop up when he gets the chance. - RT

Thanks for the compliments from me too!
I hate to hear that about the other board. I also still like to go there and read what is up. Lots of good info for both.
I am sure that this board will have it's share of conflicts. As long as any group of people get together, that is what happens. We are all human!
But for now, this is a fun place to be, and I am shocked at how well we all seem to get along. Lots of interesting secrets shared, and lots of honest, good info!
R.T. sets an excellent standard.
Oh, and for those of you who aren't familiar with the other board it is http://www.piscatorialpursuits.com/ubbcgi/Ultimate.cgi
Thanks, Steve!

Ya know Bob,
Bob's board is kind o' like life, ya meet all kinds. I will continue to read this one, that one and a couple that I just read and don't contribute to. If it wasn't for Bob's board I wouldn't have had the pleasure of meeting and becoming friends with RT and Osprey and the 10 or 12 new friends that I met at the Nisqually last night. I read most of the post's but ignore and don't respond to the ***** post's (most of the time, sometimes you just can't help yourself). The amount that I have learned, the friends I have made and will continue to make is what keeps me coming back to all of the sites. There have been some folks here who have tried to stir the pot and with the growing membership that will probably happen in the future, but I know that the board **** will keep that under control LOL !!! Hope to meet you, Gizmo and some of the other members here in the future.
Good luck and tight lines, Jeff

Don't get me wrong ,I agree with you guys about sorting thru the bad apples it just seems here lately that all thats going on over there is trash talk.I've gotten good info from people on that board and even got this address from that board and like,I said Bob's gone and no one was left in charge so the bad guys have taken over for now.I'm not putting the good people down I'm just tired of the goofballs that seems to be going out of there way to cause trouble or turmoil.I'm sure when bob gets back things will straighten out.I mean after all they don't have a permanet RT over there. Maybe we should rent him to them for a LARGE FEE .Anyway I wasn't bad mouthing the people that try and keep things straight guess I was just venting .If you get thru the trash talk there are alot of fine people there. But its still not as good as this Board.Glad,I found you.

I know i did alot of dumb things .. like the time i got caught shooting car windows out with my pellet gun ..Made a cool noise when the pellet hit the windows ..Well , now i`m all grown up and i don`t do that anymore , now i use a 7mm ....

I know what you mean Bob. I visited that board the other night and made the same observation you have made to my friend who I fished with today.

I used to visit the flyshop.com board and the same thing was beginning to happen there.

It is a shame that people loose their manners when they think they are not seen by others. Posting to the board is a public forum and I wonder if those few would talk that way if they were eyeball to eyeball with the person they are running down.

It is refreshing to see how this board is run and the friendliness of the users. People sometimes have to be reminded that they will be shut off if they are not polite.

We should all remember that it is ok to disagree, but do so with politness.

We should also remember that when we are out on the river to also be polite and leave the rudeness at home. Help your fellow fisherman out, we will all have a good day that way.

Giz

Gizmo Man, you're right on! It must have something to do with percentages of total numbers, the more people involved, the more chance of encountering a sour one. A friend once posed this question to me "Why are there so many more horse's a**es in this world than there are horse's?" Would be so much better for everyone if we all just thought about how our actions and words affect everyone around us before we did or said them. It seems that I sometimes have trouble remembering this concept, given the right circumstances! I'll keep working on it and maybe it'll help. Good Fishin'

Dawhunt, Its to bad you happen to think the other BB has gone down hill..You are right about the enforcer not being present. If he was, acouple of the "BOYS" wouldn't of had as much fun as they did. However, what did they really hurt? Personally it doesn't bother me abit. I don't let such childs play get involved in what we really want to talk about. As far as overall posts the other BB just had one topic hit 100 replies. Several of us gave our respected opinions and I think we might have even informed some of our younger readers abit on the subject.. Sure it wasn't directly related to fishin or fishin techniques but it is way more important in the overall picture!!!!!! Those same topics will determine how we live! I'm not going to mention the "P" word cause I don't want to start anything(I don't want to see poor R.T. get stumped by a very well versed gunslinger), I just think it was good news for the board overall. This BB definately has a completly different attitude and I enjoy visiting this site also. I think as long we don't put up with the "Kids" playing on their parents computors these BB's will be alot of fun for all of us, for along time to come! See ya

Hey Steely, I'll mention the "P" word for our members - politics. And it wasn't so much getting stumped by "45cal." the gunman as much as just throwing up my hands and crying UNCLE , because it's immpossible to win a political argument. BTW, the post was all about WA. Sen. Slade Gorton and the consensus of his abysmal fish and environmental record in favor of his wealthy constituents. Also, I got to make the record 100th post! Now if we were to debate the same thing about Sen. Gordon Smith ..... forget I said that! -RT

RT, I just had to throw out that friends.. slogan to get get 45 cal to post again on that thread, to prove his last fact as wrong(that he wasn't going to post again on that thread). I thought I might upset someother posters, like steelyboy. I havn't seen anybody elso post on that thread since your 100th and I hope that thread dies.

Please don't let that thread die die . I am still hoping somebody actually answers the question for me. The only answers for slade was political better than the other side crap. I wanted to hear somebody say how he has personally effected them positively. Doesn't look good for him.....

steelyhorn,

Don't pat wit45 too hard on the back. You guy didn't convince anybody, other than yourselves, that voting for Slade would be the right thing to do. Wit45 can quote all the "facts" he want about the GOP and Slade and how much we all stand to lose if Slade's not reelected, but you guys are just sad if you vote Slade. You SHOULD vote for a different conservative, if you're so worried about school prayers, taxes, gun control etc. At least they could protect your interests, without being the strike against fish that Slade is. If another conservative isn't running against him, then that's the GOP's fault, not the fish's.

Just because people quit arguing with you, that doesn't mean you won the argument. If I felt like a full-blown discussion of micro and macro-economics, monetary policy, tax structure and societal benefit in regard to the Laffer curve, and the REAL definition of Marxism, socialism, communism, and capitalism and what that all has to do with US politics, wit45 might need more ammo. But I was tired of arguing with a guy whose mind was already made up. Yours must be too.

Sorry, hope this doesn't turn into the monster it did on the "other" BB, but I didn't like the tone ol' wit45 used with RT there, and I don't like steelyhorn thinking the "old guys" won anything. And believe me steelyhorn, not all "old guys" are voting for Slade. Vote GOP if that suits your concerns about a shift to the liberal agenda, but geez, man, how bad to you need to be screwed by your Congressman before you've had enough? Just wondering.........

Fish on.......

Well, you're right, all. Politics is not a good fishin' subject, but when we discuss ol' Slade, please bear in mind you're not just helping yourselves by booting the jerk out of office, you're helping your up-river neighbors in Idaho as well. Now if we could get rid of OUR Congressional delegation, too, we'd have some hope for our fish. Doing the right thing has taken a back seat to campaign contributions, unfortunately.

Fish on, dudes...
