Default need help choosing a new bass rod

I need to purchase a new bass rod I have only been bass fishing for a couple years and its time to stop using my trout rod. Can some one tell me the best rod for the money. I am used to g-loomis rods but they dont make any GL2's for carolina rigging. I would like a 7 foot medium action. any help would be great. I also have a ciple lamiglas rods which I am happy with. I wll be using a spinning reel. Thanks in advance for the help.

Thanks, I will check the rods you mentioned. does anybody know of Falcon rods? I would like to spend around 100.00 for a good rod.

I'd go with a nice 9ft 6wt, it stout enough to cast big bass bugs.

The Bass Pro Tourney Special rod are an AMAZING buy. I even heard that the blanks are made by a company in southern Washington Just a rumor, but they are great rods, I have 7.

Thanks for all your suggestions I decided to bite the bullet and buy G-loomis SJR783 GL3 and keep all my rods loomis and lamiglas. Now I just need to find some fish.
Thanks again

I recently purchased two bionic blade and one xps extreme bait caster from Bass Pro. They had a internet sale I couldn't resist. Go for medium to medium heavy action. IAs a former steelhead bank fisherman I had great rods but with light tips. Big mistake for bass!! You need some backbone to set the hook and drag 'em in. Also bought a St Croix at the bass jamboree this winter and can't wait to use it.

Noticed you are in Salem, I am too. PM me if you want to compare notes on bassin the willy

I use two spinning rods for LMB/SMB. My favorite is the Loomis 6-8# dropshot rod ($235) Fast tip, great backbone. Super for 4" finesse worm rigging. My less expensive rod is a Lamiglas Pro #1 power ($85) in 6-10# that I use to pitch senkos and spinnerbaits. I would also take a hard look at the bronzeback line since most of the largemouths around here do not warrant heavy gear. I have a Lamiglas glass plug rod rated 10-20 that will see use on Merwin muskie if I ever get a limit of Koke's soon enough to allow it. The Shimano Crucial line is also very nice and has exposed rodblank throughout much of the handle for improved sensitivity. If cost is not an option, pick your favorite technique and look at the GL3/IMX dedicated rods (spinnerbait, jig/worm, plug, etc).
