Opening a Whole Can of.....
OK,
Here is the deal.
The peta Link below is from the peta financial page:
web page If you click on the names of the foundations it gives their addresses and contact info (phone numbers).
I am going to write them letters regarding the following link with their financial contributions to E.L.F.
web page
Oh, and PETA has also spent tens of thousands of dollars defending arsonists and other violent extremists.
PETA claims it engages in outrageous media-seeking stunts "for the animals." But which animals? Carping about the value of future two-piece dinners while administering lethal injections to puppies and kittens isn't ethical. It's hypocritical -- with a death toll that PETA would protest if it weren't their own doing.
PETA kills animals. And its leaders dare lecture the rest of us.
I am going to give a few phonecalls, maybe daily. May drop a few letters too.
May make more phonecalls and get fax numbers and see about sending some faxes in the process.
Who knows.
If enough people call them they will have a hard time getting much done, just from all of the phone calls.
A person wouldn't even have to say anything, they could just say "hello Hypocrit"
Maybe that is what I'll say too.
RE: THE Local Dog Pound and Humane Society espite the words “humane society” on its letterhead, the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is not affiliated with your local animal shelter. Despite the omnipresent dogs and cats in its fundraising materials, it’s not an organization that runs spay/neuter programs or takes in stray, neglected, and abused pets. And despite the common image of animal protection agencies as cash-strapped organizations dedicated to animal welfare, HSUS has become the wealthiest animal rights organization on earth.
HSUS is big, rich, and powerful, a “humane society” in name only. And while most local animal shelters are under-funded and unsung, HSUS has accumulated $113 million in assets and built a recognizable brand by capitalizing on the confusion its very name provokes. This misdirection results in an irony of which most animal lovers are unaware: HSUS raises enough money to finance animal shelters in every single state, with money to spare, yet it doesn’t operate a single one anywhere

Re: Opening a Whole Can of.....
You should have given her hell for supporting an organization that aids domestic terrorists.
Oh yeah,
Then you should have told her that she looked like a mixture between an evil Vampire and some sort of depressing clown/baffoon combo, and then said, "Hey have a good one Vampire clownella, I' going to scarf on a big hamburger".
Bet she'd have a complete California Meltdown over that

Sounds like she is 'damaged goods'. Be nice, but don't let her jerk your chain.

Bret,
this is a great opportunity for you to turn one around. Go educate her. If she liked you before, you have a better chance of her listening. Your'e a nice guy. I don't think she would not listen

Re: Opening a Whole Can of.....
One of the problems with the basic PETA members is that some of them dont understand the entire platform they are supporting. I ran into one at a get together a couple monthes ago. She overheard me talking to a couple guys about hunting and she piped up about it being cruel and let us know she was a PETA member.
To me it was an opportunity to learn something and maybe teach a little something. I took a few minutes and played dumb, asking her questions about what PETA is and what they stand for, who the president was and so on. All she could really come up with was that she supported them because they were against cruelty to animals.
After letting her know the issues surrounding their support of environmental torrorism, putting to sleep more animals than the local animal shelters, and finally discussing what hunting really is and why it is necessary, she didnt have much to say other than she was going to look into my claims. If I accomplished nothing else, she seemed embarrassed to be so uninformed about belonging to a club she knew nothing about. You never know, maybe she will re-think her membership.

Re: Opening a Whole Can of.....
My sister-n-law's family is a little on the odd side as well. They own a farm between sherwood and hillsboro and they raise their own beef. They find it ok to have them wrapped in little white packages, but think it's inhumane to hunt! Go figure.

Yep. . .they have rights. Geese have the right to be marinated, roasted and served on a bed of wild rice with an ice cold beer.

Um, you obviously haven't met him?! Just because someone says "hahaha" in every post doesn't mean he isn't evil.
(Just funnin' you Brett. We'll have to get out on the boat in a few weeks for salmon; then the real trash-talkin' can start).
Sorry for the hijack; I just felt like flingin' some poop. Back to our regularly scheduled discussion. PETA people stink! As a wise man once said, "Stupid hippies - they say they want to save the planet, but instead they just sit around and smoke pot and smell bad."(this moment of wisdom brought to you by Eric Cartman)

Re: Opening a Whole Can of.....
One of my wife's aunts always cringes when me and her husband talk hunting. She made him stop hunting years ago but I am sure he still wants too. She'll ask how I can shoot those cute little deer with those pretty eyes. I used to try and be polite and change her mind about hunting if nothing but for the sake of her whimpy husband. I gave up and the last time she asked me how I shoot those pretty deer I responded "Sight Alingment, sight picture and SQUEEZE!" She quit asking me.
What's funny is about a year later she asked my wife if we had any venison left over and if they could have some. Of course I obliged and I even kept my tongue. I guess I couldn't change her mind but I guess I could change her appetite!
