Default NR Mariner

Looking at getting a mid level boat here in the not to distant future and am looking at the mariner. I have a few questions about how it performs. The deadrise it 12* and it says you can rig it with a jet. Would this hull be a good(reasonable) shallow water hull when rigged with a jet? I am looking for a boat that can do it all as is everyone!! I would primarily be fishing the big C, willamette and some of the shallow water stuff around the metro/valley area. Thanks for any input.

Default Re: NR Mariner

I test drove one with an O/B jet on the Sac. River. While I liked all the room etc. I didn't like the way it slapped in small white water nor impressed with the 115hp Yamaha. I went with a Seahawk instead. If you are going to be on big water, you don't want a shallow hull imo unless you don't mind getting pounded. However, if most of your boating is going to be on shallow rivers and occassionally the Big C then I'd probably go with the Mariner. Just get some suspension seats. Good luck.
