Default Check Out Forrest Bay Above ! Why?

I got around to reviewing Forest Bay (banner ad above). Interesting site in addition to their value prices! They have an "Outdoor News" column. And they have some very good prices on fishing and other outdoor equipment. I am getting a 25 lb. rated spinning rod for tidewater from them at 25% less than at stores. Hey Mark, check out a couple of jigs in that section under tackle. Notice the Johnson "Beetle Spin" and "Rattlin" jigs! Looks like they'd be deadly on summer steelhead. However, they do appear to be partially rubber so check reg.s for time period exclusions of rubber that are common during bait bans (such as now on coastal rivers). The current HOT deals are the ABU-Garcia "Cardinal" spinning reels for only $40.99, !!!, and the Luhr Jensen "Coyote" spoon for only $2.39! Great prices. Remember I mentioned in one of my posts that the Coyote is a real "sleeper" of a very effective saltwater salmon trolling lure. The one pictured in half metalic blue and half chrome would only need to have a single tape eye and a small arrowhead shaped piece of red lure tape near the lower end to have an "RT's Injured Baitfish" Coyote. Put some good herring or sardine oil on the hook and swivels (not the blade, which will dampen the flash) and you will have a killer salt/lower bay spoon; w/o having to be concerned about your herring action. Also, try them along side the Alvin spoons for Col. R. fall 'nooks to compare there. If you try them let us know how they do. Thanks. - RT

I looked at the forest bay website and see where they state they have aquired vision hooks. Yet I could not find vision hooks for sale on their page for sale under hooks, unless it was their "owner" hooks?? I believe there was a post a while back (I could not find it)where people were talking about a hook, and I think it was vision hooks. I believe timber man states he was an unofficial distributor/promotor. I have not found these hooks for sale anywhere. Do you know where they are sold?

You mentioned in your post Alvins. I was at O.C. Fishermans Marine yesterday and see Alvins now come in about a dozen colors, multiple color airbrushed. Some of them looked really good. Not hanging on the wall with the rest of them, but they were under the glass at the counter.

Hi there Bait.

Joe Superfisky is a rep for Vision, nice guy. I had the same trouble looking for vision hooks.

I will e mail Joe and see why this is.

Joe is giving away free samples, so e mail him and request some. His e mail is: superfish@uswest.net.
I'd be glad to give you some if you are ever in the area too. I have found them very reliable.
Their points dont break as often happens with a gamakatzu when they lodge in the bony part of a fish' skull.
Rumor has it that quality control is not as good with vision, and that may be true, but I haven't so far found one hook that I needed to sharpen.
I like um.. for the price.... I love em!

Jen
