Default Nehalem -vs- bouy 10

Good chance I can talk the wife into a hall pass again this weekend. I have never fished Bouy 10 but have heard a lot about it. Does anybody have any thoughts on the higher probability of cathing a chinook, Nehalem bay or bouy 10. Nehalem should be getting hotter in the weeks to come, or would bouy 10 just surpass Nehalem bay?

If anybody fishes the opening day at bouy 10, please post how fishing is.

Hi Eggs. The Bouy 10 fishery gets a lot more fish, especially this year with nearly half a million coho expected. More crowded though! However, they will close it off to the keeping of Chinook after an 8,000 (I think) quota has been met. Which may mean barbless for coho's after that. I think the Nehalem and T-Bay runs will be good this year also due to the upswing in ocean survival, but not as good as the Col. because of the '96 coastal flood damage to native spawning redds. Best thing to do is to call the marinas in both areas right before you go. And watch the BB here for reports. - RT

HI BOE: I owe you one and therefore, I will call my fishing guide friend who has been fishing Nehalem Bay just about everyday since July 5. If you would send me your phone No. by email, I will call him tonight and get the latest for you and then call you.

I will do this if you want. I do appreciate what you did for Dave. He still is hanging in there. I got the pics back of him and his son on the shad trip. They are still talking of the fun time they had. YOU made it successful.
