I used to tail 'em but now use a salmon net. You never know when the hook might pop out of a 50 inchers mouth right at the boat and it's awful hard to tail them when that happens. Give us a good report, i'll be up there for two days next weekend at the same launch (east mooring basin right?).... Joe

We got A 44" and a 47" on smelt.
