Jeremy:
This time of year, you can pretty much just pick a river, and odds are, something will be going on (make sure the river is open to fishing first). Locally, there is the S. Santiam, which has literally thousands of steelies in it right now. Whether or not they are on the bite is another question. Try up near Foster Dam @ Wiley Creek. The siletz should also be chuck full of summer steelhead right now. Just go to the gate and hike up to the gorge area (maybe bring mtn. bike). As far as other rivers, see any of the recent posts about the Columbia, Deschutes, or Nehalem (all of these have lots of bank fishing opportunities). Feel free to e-mail me if you have more questions.

Good Luck,

Exit 35 84 east. Go towards dead end towards
the Fishery signs. Keep going until the dead
end. Warrenton Beach on the Mighty Columbia.
Lot's of bank guys, hopefully who will help
you. Bring sturdy rod to support the heavy lead you will need. Lot's of Steelhead
and Salmon caught from this beach. Don't
hit my boat with the lead, OK, grin? You
might have to make a field trip to check
it out.

Default No boat...want some fish

Anybody know some good places to do some bank angling this time of year? Either on the Columbia or in some of the other rivers around NW Oregon. Looking for big fish even big trout will do. Thanks for the info.
