gottafish,

This is a tough question because of seveal factors,

This will require a query to Lockheed Martin,

They were involved with number admin back in the day.

They may still be, This was from a time period just after divestiture of AT&T, So, there will be records that Martin kept for several regional bell operating companies, in addition to a multitude of local privately owned telcos.

What month of 1985 are you looking for the info for?

Area Codes countinually are released as number series are utilized.

Perhaps the question you are looking for this information to solve, could be solved another way, or reverse engineered.

What is the real question you are trying to solve...

So the answer to your question my son, Is yet another question.

Yep I have been working on this question for to weeks and the report is now 27 pages long. its for a engineering test as extra credit. the number 867-5309 is from the song ( Jennie)and in 1985 I think the phone co dropped the number due to all the calls. but that has to be to easy of a answer, so I know this is a trivia question that I should be able to find on the net somewhere but I can't seam to find it.
