Don\'t Be a Doughball!
To the Grey Alumaweld above the Fishery
Saturday morning.
Next time you come in REAL late, DON'T
assume you are Moses and the hogline with part just because you cross anchor EVERYONE
in a dangerous stretch of water. WE were
there HOURS before you! Then when you
somewhat came to your senses, you go
outside and ON PURPOSE push everyone
out of their spot into the bank, THEN
tell us you are gonna kick our butts!
You RUINED the weekend for many of us and
some of us (me) left immediately after I
waited for hours to fish!
The worst part is you left the river at
NOON because we followed you to the boat
ramp to perhaps discuss your overall
manners requirements and educate you
as well on our personal safety. I think
you saw us though, cause you never even
stopped at the top of the ramp before
you hit the highway!!
You REALLY made some friends, ESPECIALLY
with the local Skaminia boys who you also
verbally attacked for no reason. You might
want to find where the OTHER TOTAL DOUGHBALLS
fish and go there from now on, fer sure,
fer sure.
I am just the messenger for a BUNCH of the
rest of us SAFE, MANNERED and CARE ABOUT
EACH OTHER folks who fish this spot.
You KNOW who you are.

Re: Don\'t Be a Doughball!
******, I am not sure if you were the boat next to us (Rick?) or the one closest to the bank. I was in the Red Alumameld and couldn't believe what that guy did.
I wasn't sure if he was that stupid or just incredibly inconsiderate. I mean, were does he get off threatening to kill people???? At any rate, you simply said what the rest of us were thinking and I for one am glad you did. Although I felt you both were near your boiling point, and was wondering if your were going to walk across our boat to get to him.
I personally felt he was way out of line. Your sentiments are also felt by me in that it ruined everyone's day. I work all week to spend Saturday morning fishing and if I have to fish with people like that, it just isn't worth it. I'm going back to the Ocean.
What makes it worse is that after pulling a stunt like he did in the morning, he had the nerve to go on an unprovoked tyrant!!! I suppose if you fish long enough you are going to run into those types, but it was a first for me.
Personally for your sake, I am glad nothing further happened. I know how angry you were and things can get out of hand at times. Keep that in mind.
Just wanted to give you a word of support.
By the way, nothing from noon to 4:00, but a friend of mine pulled in about 5:30 and had three steelies and one Walleye before dark. Hope to see you up there again. I bet the Alumaweld doesn't show up for a while. At least I can hope he doesn't. He had a pritty brutal verbal assault, which he most certainly deserved.

Re: Don\'t Be a Doughball!
Alas....it IS a small world!! Yes, the
Blue Asaltor. AND you anchored perfectly
in the middle of the night, the spacing
was perfect and the day should have been.
Yep, must be getting old and DON'T want
to be Sheriff, because all I really did
is leave.
Fact is though, there are so many of these
guys these days, unless someone attempts
to at least correct their behavior it never ends.
YOU KNOW what it would have been like
if he took us all out of the line in
that spot. Drowning water. He tried real hard.
Best to you. You are a gentlemen and you
had a boat full of gentlemen as well. So
is my Pal Rick on the other side of me,
who got pinned worse than me. He was born
and raised right there in Skamania and was
fishing that spot before anyone ever did.
(I guess I forgot it was Saturday and
should have watched cartoons instead)
Sit next to me in August, OK?

Re: Don\'t Be a Doughball!
Sounds good. I'll definately look for you the next time I am up there. I don't have a boat of my own, but I'm usually in that 19' Red Alumaweld with my friend Harry. He was probably the one you spoke to while we were anchored. He was in the back of the boat baiting the rods and checking them from time to time. I was sitting on the opposite side of the boat from you, wearing a camouflage jacket. Harry is always very considerate of those he fishes around and an easy person to fish with. You might say hi if you see him. I am sure he won't forget that day any time soon.
By the way we were all jelous of that breakfast you had brought to you. Biscuits and Gravy on a boat just isn't fair for those of us who have to get by with a bagel or doughnut.

Re: Don\'t Be a Doughball!
That was not my boat. That was the
other boat (other Rick in the Sea
Dory) that got the biscuits and gravy delivery (and they complained
about their wives???)

Re: Don\'t Be a Doughball!
RT stands for Real Truth. Is this correct? If so, you and Dawhunt ought to share your real diet secrets. I said I would not say anything about our trip today, but when I read your post about being "on a stinkin' diet" craving biscuits and gravey something in side me calls out. Now, I know you didn't eat any EMU steaks or gravey, but I do recall a big maple bar chased by a real coke, followed by 1 1/2 snowballs (thank goodness I'm a fast eater or it might have been 2 1/2 snowballs.
Remember there are those out here that will insure that only the REAL TRUTH is spoken on this board.

Re: Don\'t Be a Doughball!
Diet... 1 week in Alaska and I have come home to a 4 pound challenge. My wife packed my day cooler today....was that a hint!!??
She never does that...I lost 69 pounds over the last 22 months and I think she/we are wondering if I am falling back into trouble. Oh did I forget to tell you that I had put on 8# the previous 2 months before the trip. This is war and I will get them back before August is over. Summer is fum...but to easy to get out of control!

Re: Don\'t Be a Doughball!
OK Giz. There is method in my diet madness. I've read that small snacks every few hours keeps your metabolism higher, thus burning more fat...... as I sit in my jetsled lounge chair. Besides, it's not the means to an end that counts but how mean and lean I am at the end... of this dang stinkin' diet. BTW, I never said anything about real truth, only reel truth. About fishing I tell it like it is. About diets and emus...... Ya, the Truth hurts, in many ways . Hey Bill, did you & Chris stop by Porter's on the Kenai last week to get their huge, warm, sticky cinnamon rolls? He has video of me scarfin' one of those down after rigging it on a 6/0 hook to a Jet Planer and bent rod! Really. We ate those nearly every morning after the early bite. Hey, how did another topic turn to food again? - RT - Edit: I re-read the topic name, "Don't Be A Doughball". That kinda fits both subjects in this thread?
