Default For Sliverpicker

This posting goes out to you buddy; I'm guessing you didn't get out today because of your being a little girl complaining about kidney stones =-) I'm just kidding buddy, I know the pain and I wouldn't wish it on anyone!

Anyway, I got out today and looked for the elusive blacktail sheds. I didn't bring my camera, as I wasn't hopeful of finding anything. After walking for about an hour and completely frustrated, I threw my walking stick off to the side of the game trail I was walking. As I watched the stick hit the ground, I looked to my right and was just baffled. There lay a 3 pt. from last year. I just stood there and laughed thinking "maybe I should throw more sticks!"

I did a quick circle looking for the other side with no luck so I went back and picked it up. After looking at it and the way it fell off, I started walking the way I thought the deer might be going. About 60 yd. away on a off beaten game trail, there lay the other side! Score, a matched set in about 5 minutes of searching.

I walked for about another half hour until I found a buried yearling under a pine tree. I did a quick look around, and got the hell out of dodge. Kitty's are definitely working the area over. Last year when I walked this tract, there were deer tracks all over the roads, cut banks, trails, etc. This year, the sign is way down.

Hope you get better Sliverpicker, we need to get up to your stomping grounds in a couple of weeks and find us some horns off our bucks!

What's this "left my camera at home" nonsense?

I may be down, but I'm not out! I crawled out of the deathbed today and stumbled out behind the house for some fresh air. All the tracks going through the briars got me thinking(drug induced), so I started clawing my way down some trails and I'll be darned if I didn't find a little 3pt just waiting for me to come along.

You better get up a little earlier in the day to outdo me lad!

Did you take those "old sheds" back out and leave them for the mice? I better go lay down for awhile. mommy!

Nice find! You gotta love when you find a set.

By the way nice ammo box. (I have the same one)

I bow down to you Ron You have more will then I would in your condition. Although I would imagine I'd be up trying to do things too! Congrats on the find, I'm still missing that "first freshie" of the year!

You should probably get out there tomorrow and see if you can find the other side or maybe some more???
