construction equipment
i'm looking for a dumping trailer, on the internet. and i'm running into a trend. so far most dealers/manufacturers are not giving a price for their products. if you do find a price listed, it will be a year old or the manufacturers full retail price. to make 20 phone calls all over the country to get a current price comparision, so i can go to a n/w dealer with some current pricing to dicker with is getting old. so far i have two actual price's after several hours of searching. if this was a truck or a backhoe i was looking for, i would have thousands of prices to look at. why would dump trailers, be any different than any other piece of construction equipment.a lot of sites have a wall built. they want all your personal info and your first born child for a quote, then when you give it to them, it will say call this non toll free number. you would think that the most important thing a salesmen would want to do is get you interested with a price for the goods he/she is selling.

Re: construction equipment
Baltz,
I’m picking up a new dump trailer too. The best trailers I have found are at Trailer world in Tumalo. My wife tried to find a used one because she didn’t want me to spend five grand on a trailer but she couldn’t find any either.

Re: construction equipment
what kind of trailer are you getting, size, features, price.i'm getting real tired of hand unloading my 7x16x2 flatbed and 7x8x2 trash trailers. breathing all the dust from the demolition on remodels is bad enough the first time i move the junk, doing it twice is getting to be nuts.

Re: construction equipment
They have a lot of different trailers down there but the one I’m getting is the 6.5’ x 12’ with I think a 12000 GVW for 5,300. They have a lighter one that is the same dimension but only has like a 7000 GVW for 4,600. The heavier trailer has taller metal sides but they both have stake pockets so you can build side racks.

Re: construction equipment
the 6.5'x12' at $5300.00 sounds pretty good, what brand, and is that with ramps. i bought my hunting trailer from them several years ago, and their prices where good at the time. i have found a 6x10x2 big tex 10,000lb gvwr for $4195.00 msrp. in a perfect world i could get a dump trailer large enough to haul a vehical in, 7x14x2 but the only thing i have found has been over $8000.00, cheaper to buy two new trailers than one dual pourpose

Re: construction equipment
I think they are big tex but don’t quote me. Also all his trailers are.. (if I remember right) 10 gauge compared to 12 or 14 which most other dump trailers are.

Re: construction equipment
have not looked yet. i'll go with a price list, to the local places, first. actually got a single quote returned from 99west, just now. asked for a price on all their dump trailers and he gave me one for the most expensive one. maybe they only have one trailer.

Re: construction equipment
trailer world in tumalo, has the 6.5x12x2 10,400lb gvwr at $5112.00. and i'll most likely buy one. but i talked to a local dump trailer manufacturer, and he is going to give me a bid on a custom trailer. 7x14 dump flatbed with stake pockets, longer tongue with reciever mount for winch. if he can build it for under $4500.00 i'll look hard at it.trailers unlimited also had a fair deal on a 6.5x12x2 12,000 gvwr with a scissor lift ram for $5850.00, i looked at about 30 trailers today. and in redmond the prices where about $500.00 to $1500.00 higher for the same basic designed trailers as bend.

Re: construction equipment
Baltz,
I just picked mine up from Trailer World this afternoon. I got the heavy duty 6 x 12. It pulls really well. If your going to have someone build you one make sure you try pulling one of his trailers first. I’ve never been happy with any trailer that someone has custom made for me.

Re: construction equipment
I’m not sure where it was parked because I was inside when they pulled it around. I assume that it was one of the ones parked in the back along the highway. I think they have several of those exact same trailers.

Re: construction equipment
picked up my new trailer today.it is a cb 5'x10' 7000lb rated dump trailer. from trailers unlimited in bend. trailer worlds latest batch had a bunch of poor welds in obvious places, and there price went up. so i went with the higher quality smaller trailer. the cb trailer is built in caldwell idaho and was $700.00 less than than the 6x12 i was looking at
