Saburo's has Toro! AKA.. BFT
Just ate a very genorous portion of sushi from Saburo's for dinner, while I was waiting for the take out order to be made, I struck up a convo with the head sushi chef, they have Toro in stock now, which is fatty Bluefin. Fresh from Cape Cod. I have only seen Toro on menu's here in portland once. Mucha excellente!
This is a seasonal fish and is definitely a specialty, the chef had mentioned they pay 42-50 bucks a lb for toro vs 10-15 a lb for Maguro (Ahi)
Will try to arrange for a salty dog eat out nite.
Last the Asahi Beer is very good.

Toro Toro Toro,,,,,,I liked that movie ,,,,,,BFT belly meat,,,prime stuff,,,,,,the bigger the fish, the more fat content, the better the quality,,,,,,,the more you pay....plus it's not found here locally,,,,,,,more money.

You can also find quality toro and ahi at Anzen in Portland across the street from the convention center. that place is bigger than it looks.
I thouroughly questioned the seafood guy behind the counter. They cut fresh tuna everyday. I was impressed.
I have been there a few times now to supply myself for "sushi nights" at home.
They also have some interesting bait potential in their frozen section. Hmmmmmmmmmm.
Check it out My Bro-Bro's.

Doug,
I WAS at the convention, arrived late, and got sidetracked fishing out in the ocean.

Who'da thunk there were so many dogs that we missed each other! That is a sign that Walter, Glen, and Co. TRULY outdid themselves!
