F-150...No Headlights!
Hopped in my truck tonight to go to work and no headlights! It was already dark so I couldn't see much. Nothing obvious, fuse looked okay. Just had the oil changed today and think something got bumped.
Anyone with a F-150 have this happen to them?

Is the dimmer on the floor? If so, look at the wires there first.

Bronco
It's a 99 F-150. Parking lights, fog lights, dash lights work. Didn't try the turn signals. Are the relays located by the battery under the hood?
Thanks

Re: F-150...No Headlights!
YEp should be on the pass side wheel well. Make sure you did not just blow the bulbs. Its strange but I have seen it happen. You can get them cheep they should be 9004 bulb about $5.00 just dont touch the glass on the bulb. If you want to check your relay then you can usaly switch them around. most are the same just remember where they came form.

Re: F-150...No Headlights!
Headlights don't have a fuse. It's a circuit breaker. This will result in lights going on and off when there is a short circuit. The light switch it's self is a real source of trouble on the Ford F-150. The reostat for diming the dash lights are on this switch and they often over heat and cause trouble with the head lights. A new light switch is the only way to fix this problem.
Good Luck;

Re: F-150...No Headlights!
Thanks guys. I'll check it out in the morning.
I suspect something that is common such as a relay or switch. Stranger things have happened though so I'll take a look at the bulbs too.

Thanks for everyone who replied with tips on troubleshooting this problem. It ended up being two bad headlights.

Re: F-150...No Headlights!
Mark,
I hade this same problem with my headlights one night after work on my '97 F-150. After checking fuses, bulbs, etc. and finding no problem, I decided to try the high beams. The high beams worked and immediately after the low beam lights worked. I still don't know what caused this problem but you may want to give it a try next time.
