Is there a filter to see your ranking of fishing/hunting sites?

Congratulations, Jennie!
You, and everyone else that have contributed to setting up this web sight have done a great job! There's something for everyone here, even an old "Bible Thumper" like myself!

Re: Ifish 897th biggest board in the world!
I submitted me a long time ago, when I was doing some research on how things are done by bigger and growing boards.
I didn't think I'd get in, cuz you have to have so many posts, and so many hits, etc.
I guess Ifish got in!

Re: Ifish 897th biggest board in the world!
Not to start an argument-pleasant discussion would be nice, but--Just how big would we like to see this board get? I know Jennie makes a bit from this site(The girl's gotta live!) and I know she is not trying to become a gazillionaire, but I kinda like the smallness of it. I don't like big cities, I don't like crowded rooms.
Theres ~10,000 registered members, thats a nice size town. Has all the ammeneties and you can get pretty much anything you want without going to a big city with all the crime and pollution. Why do we need a big city?

Re: Ifish 897th biggest board in the world!
wannacatch, I think like you... but there is no way to limit the growth if we want to stay the best.
What does one do? Shut down registration?
All I can do is limit it to people who are kind to one another and offer something to the site.
If someone is rude, or causes trouble, they are outa here.
I miss the old ifish with all of my heart. It was awesome, and ifish is a very different site now. But, try as I might, there is no way to get back there.
I second your sentiment on keeping it small, but I can't figure out how to do that.
As long as we are big, though, might as well be best at that, too!
Jen

Re: Ifish 897th biggest board in the world!
Charge an annual membership fee (25 cents. I'd pay $10). Have a computer software expert figure out how to keep people from clicking more than three times on the subject topics without registering (they want a preview). Limit registered members to 10,000, after three years you are removed from the board if you don't have more than 300 posts. You can re-register again. Raise the limit of users by 100 each year
Sounds a little elitist, but a lot of communities have growth policies that limit growth.
Sigh.....will never happen....and thats OK
