Default Freeze Damage Insurance

Does your insurance company cover freeze damage to your boat engine ? My former neighbor busted chevy v-8's two years in a row and his insurance coverd him both times.2 brand new marine 350's.
Yikes I might be in the same insurance pool

Steve, Same thought occurred to me. I can't believe insurance companies even offer it. i worked for Beaver Marine a few years back when Mel was still running it and he told me about one guy who was in two years out of three to get a cracked block replaced. All he had to do was spend $75 bucks to get it winterized. Who ultimately pays when some blockhead's block cracks?

Another thing I noticed when talking to insurance adjusters is they tend to kiss off way too much. They say it's bad for business if they ask too many questions about how something happened. Bottom line, maybe insurance companies are making way too much money at our expense. Doh!!!

The best insurance is a heat exchanger and antifreze in the block. You still have to drain the raw water side of the heat exchanger though.

Another potential problem is water in the lower unit oil. Before it gets cold reain a bit of the oil out and check for water. Water in the lower unit will freeze and cause $$$$ in damage :depressed:
