I broke up (got dumped) by a girl one summer. My roommates had two puppies and I'd take them running on the beach after work. Those dogs got me more dates and numbers than I care to remember. Cherish the dog, treat it well, take it for walks in parks and crowded areas. The pup will love it and soon you won't remember the name of your ex.

my uncle told me years ago to always have a good dog because know matter how late or what kind of shape your in you have someone who loves you and is happy to see you.

Train the puppy right. give it love and guidance and spend lots of time with it out in the park, or fields. the right girl will be there waiting for you when you get there.
She will see the care you give the dog and respect you for it. the rest will happen on its own. A good woman knows a good man by how he treats his dog.
