Default Zane Grey very old books.

I have 48 very old books. They are all hard cover. The oldest is copyright 1903. The newest is copyright 1950. They are all hardcovers by Zane Grey. My question is what are they worth? Should I just hang on to them? I may have a complete set. I'm not sure.

Hang on to them. Take them to an rare book apraiser. There is a rare bookstore in down town Vancouver. It's "Z" or Zephyr or something like that. What a fantastic collection to own. Do you have any history to share about where they came from. It can usually help the price in an auction to know an Items history. Let me know what you find out.

Do a search on E-Bay to see what prices they are going for now.

go to bibliofile.com, and do a search. There should be a # inside to the books front or back cover and you can log in this number and it will help determine value and info on the book. Get set to have. I love Zane, I was going to name my next son after him.

Great western author. I've read every book the library had. He knew his rivers too, why else would have a cabin on the Rogue.

Take them to Powells Book Store in Portland. The best one is off of West Burnside. They can put your books on a nationwide request list and determine the value based on condition and demand. I collect Uncle Wiggily (Howard R. Garris) books and Powells has been very helpful. I think you may have some valuable books. No one in your family wants them?!! One of my Wiggily books has passed hands three times. One was to a lady in New Jersey from a family in Michigan dated 12/25/44. Clearly a Christmas present. There are three tos and froms and the first one was to a Janice(my name) Squires in Danville Virginia no date....It's fasinating! How did this book end up in my hands here in Oregon? I've read all the stories to my daughters! Let me know how it ends up and what you decide to do!

Rogue River Fued, a book about competition between upriver and lower river commercial Salmon fishermen is a great read.

I just bought a set of 15 Zane grey books, they sound a lot the same. Excellent condition, published between 1908-1922. Most are first editions. The entire set was $100. Just a data point, yours may be worth a lot more... or less?? Who knows! But they sure look good on the bookshelf and I an enjoying re-reading them greatly!
BTW, the used book store on Water Street in west Salem is a wonderful place to wander around... for those of us who can't to Powell's easily.
