Sturgeon Challenge Baton Winner is C&E
Well, well, well. The natives are restless so here it goes. First I would like to commend those of you that put the hurt on the keeper fish yesterday. Especially, Team Sneakin' Out, Team Carrot Milk, Team Dipnet, Team On a Roll and all those that actually put a keeper in the boat. I bow down to your superior fishing abilities.
To the rest of us shaker kings we choked on our own smack.
Please vote on the follow choices for the BATON of SHAME:

Dang it. Thought I got away. Oh well, voted for GBS anyway for believing my story for baling on him
But on the other hand, maybe I should get the baton for just that reason. Kinda like an oscar

Brad,
I can hear it now 'I'd like to thank the academy, my parents, my little sister suzie and oh, ya, Mrs. Krytler from first grade...'
You'll always be a winner in my book. I'm hoping you got this one in the bag.

And for the record, I caught a few more than a couple. Good thing I was on fortywink's boat or he'd be in trouble.

Re: Sturgeon Challenge Baton Winner is C&E
Boys and Non-boys the winner will be announced this afternoon at 4 pm after all the votes are tallied. Some of the teams are suspiciously quiet right now and did not properly enter themselves into the contest for the BATON. But thats okay, we have contacted DR. PHIL to counsel you and your deniel.
Looks like a close race between Graybeard, 40 year old Greenbuttskunk, and O'l Catch AND Eat. Ah.....the humanity......

Rick I was tempted to put Troy's name up there for the squaw fish but since he does'nt post I can't really needle him much here anymore. :depressed: I kinda think it's funny how this is turning out.

Re: Sturgeon Challenge Baton Winner is C&E
Confused.
Why would you put people in the pole who caught fish with people who caught absolutely nothing at all or not even a bite?
The winner,(in my humble opinion) should be the bottom of the bunch.
How can someone catch 4 shakers and win the baton over someone who got NADA?
Just curious.

Re: Sturgeon Challenge Baton Winner is C&E
Sturgeon Tom- There was some talk of the factoring in the smack-talk to fish landed ratio. We didn't catch tons of fish, but then again, we never said we would, others can't boast so much.
Edit: This was my 500th post and I didn't even realize it!

Too bad Greybeard was'nt Yao Ming. He'd get 4 like million votes! I dont' know the poor fella but if he had a slow day out there he's got my vote. Besides, I bet the baton leaves some kind of evil mojo on a guys boat, and my boat has a #40 handicap already.

Re: Sturgeon Challenge Baton Winner is C&E
Well folks the time is here to announce the winner of the Sturgeon Challenge BATON for 2004. After viewing the results and viewing them again it seems I have a bit of a delimma to deal with.
I put Greenbuttskunk's name up there to add a little levity to this poll and you guys overwhelmingly voted for the poor 40 year fool and he did'nt even fish!!!! I'm sorry Brad, I just had to do that to ya bud. Thanks for humoring me on this.
So here we go. Pretty close running between Graybeard and Catch And Eat here. Graybeard did not produce any fish, perhaps it would have helped if he had actually wet his line a bit right Larry!!!! Then you have Poor o'l Catch And Eat that shot off his mouth for the millionth time and his boat produced a total of 11 shakers. Pathetic showing for someone that is supposed to know what the heck they are doing. Now I realize that there are others out there that produced much less than my team and or myself. However the concensous was to put it to a vote via a poll here on i-fish. What to do?........
Ah heck, is it okay to name myself the winner of the BATON this year? I deserve the dang thing anyways. Graybeards good samaritan act toward fellow fisherman counts for something that I believe puts him a notch above me and for that matter many others out there Saturday. Very Kind Larry.
So I hearby declare myself the winner/looser of the 2004 Sturgeon Challenge (without objections hopefully) and await Uglygreen's handoff of this prestigious award.
Thanks again to everyone that participated this year. I promise next year we will all get together at a indoor location to enjoy some friendships and meet other i-fishers.
Hats off to the most keepers from Team Sneakin Out. What a thrashing they put on the rest of us.

Re: Sturgeon Challenge Baton Winner is C&E
Bernie, I'm back from Dallas and Houston and have read the results and I fell that "40" hanging Chads are worth a baton or two for BGS.
Brad, that 40th one is easy when you are young at heart. Just enjoy your new addition and you'll feel young for a few more years.
Sorry I missed the fun but I did get out for a pre fish back on the 17th and had one nice 44" fish. I even have a photo for proof. Now if I could just figure out how to post it. It's a print not a digital.
Bernie, sounds like some need to take heed of my closing lines,

C&E congrats on the win. This was a HOOT.
I don't think anyone did't have fun. I certainly heard a lot of fun taking place over the radio. I can't wait for the next one.
This was an expensive challenge for me. I lost my glasses, and burned a big hole in my rain gear.
I guess one should not get that close to the heater.

Re: Sturgeon Challenge Baton Winner is C&E
Man you guys are acting like this is an episode of "Survivor" or something. Folks this is just for fun and I don't think its a huge deal. Hey if I end up getting this thing so be it. It will be fun to dress up for next years recipient and I am sure that Graybeard, Safety chain and the rest feel the same way. Its just fishing and a way to get us all together. I threw Greenbuttskunk's name in just for fun and it looks like he is doing nicely. I would never award it to him though because old folks like us have a hard enough time just turning 40 let alone have to deal with the dreaded BATON.
Votes must be cast by 4pm and the "loser" will be crowned. BTW Uglygreen tried to make it to technical so maybe he should just keep the darn thing.
