Default florescent replacement bulbs

I had a florescent replacement bulb the kind that twist around and replace a standard light bulb, go out last night there was some smoke and a small flame while this accoured. when I touched the bulb it was very hot. While I was at Ketas home in November he had the same thing happen with the flame and smoke too. Have any of you experianced this happening. I have then in most of my lamps and overhead lights but now I am thinking of taking them out. I have a couple lamps on timers and if I wasen't home and this happened how far could the flame go? this is something to think about.

Default Re: florescent replacement bulbs

Man, that is scary. I've used some of those bulbs for a number of years, and I have never had anything like that happen.
