Post Migraine Moments
After I have one of those, I'm so appreciative for normal life. I almost want to get down on my knees and praise God.
There is nothing more terrible than the nausea and the pain of the headache. I really want to die. Then, when it's over, even if I don't feel great, it's awesome!!!
LOL... It only lasts about an hour, but it is the most awful hour that you can imagine!
If you don't have migraines, get down on your knees right now, and be thankful for your life!

Re: Post Migraine Moments
Migraine headaches really are horrible, light and sound even hurt. Stew's post could make this an I'll show you mine ,if you show me yours.............., so after the kidney stones we can look forward to Gout.
I'd get down on my knees and pray for you Jennie but I can't bend my knee.
Maybe picking through all these posts have given you the pain in your head.
This getting old is getting old.

Re: Post Migraine Moments
It is getting old!
Here's how it went, last two days.
Aura, two mornings in a row. No headache.
Woke up yesterday feeling fine. 10 minutes later, I was in hell. I sat at the kitchen table in tears! Yes, crying! I couldn't move! I had Bill bring ice. I had frozen peas on the top of my head, and brocoli on my neck.
Bill brought a plethora of pills to choose from. I took one of each. NO RELIEF!
I put a morphine patch on my arm!
NO RELIEF!
Finally, an hour later, I'm human. It feels so good, I'm dancing! (Or was that the pills!?!) muhahahhaha....
Then, two hours later, another aura!
Then, last evening, another aura.
OK, add it up, this should mean I'll have another headache, soon! This is just creepy, expecting that kind of pain. It's spooky!

Re: Post Migraine Moments
I am sorry for what you are having to go through . Lay down in the dark and just rest.
I will say that the picture of you covered in frozen veggies did make me laugh. It made me think of the picture of that bunny with the pancake on its' head. Maybe the bunny had a migraine?
Quite and low level light. And don't forget to breath. I was medically trained ......or no I stayed in a Holiday Inn once. So listen to me.

Re: Post Migraine Moments
EXCEDRIN used to work... but not with these!
I dunno why not! Excedrin has tons of caffeine in it!

Re: Post Migraine Moments
I can not think of anything as awful as a nauseating migraine. I have only has one, maybe two, and if I never have another one that will be too soon. Glad your feeling better.

Re: Post Migraine Moments
Jenny I have Migraine too so I sympathize with you. Thankfully as I have aged (57 now) they are not as frequent. Sometimes they respond to Maxalt (like Imitrex)
and sometimes they do not. I work with a lady who had them most every day. She got on to some kind of medication that is normally used for Epilepsy (I think) It has worked for her to prevent them from occurring. She's only had a couple in the last two months or so. Might ask your Doc about it. I can find out what it's called if you'd like

I feel your pain. Last year I went to the doctor because I was having a migraine at least three times a week. When my doctor asked me how often I take excedrin, I sat there for a moment thought about it and told her every day. I had to be winged off of excedrin since I apparently because addicted to it.
One of my friends, who I haven't seen in over 6 months came down from Seattle to visit. We traveled down to Eugene to see some of our other friends. On the way there I started to get a migrane. I tried to take some meds and drank a lot of water but nothing worked. We went out to dinner and I couldn't even stare at my food, I wanted to throw up. The worst part was all of my friends got drunk so I was surrounded with a bunch of loud drunk people. I ended up sleeping the entire way back to Corvallis and threw up the moment I got home.
Migraines are such a damper in life.

Re: Post Migraine Moments
Unfortunately, due to my heart condition, I can't take any of the meds they offer for migraine. :depressed:
I think you are talking about Neuontin. That's doesn't do well for me, either. (the anti seizure meds)
