Default Trophy Magazine wants photo shoot.

Just recieved an e-mail from Trophy Magazine in Chicago Ill. I wrote a fishing story about a Blue Shark my son-in-law caught on his fisrt ocean fishing trip. The editor liked the story ,and I was asked to send pics of my 2052 Trophy WA and some ocean pics. I advised that I didn't have any pics as the Camera fell into the Ocean while I was taking pics and trying to hang on at the same time.

So the editor postponed publishing the article, until now. I recieved a e-mail they want to fly out from Chicago,Ill and meet with me,my son-in-law and have me take them out onto the Ocean where we fish for a photo layout.

Exciting, I wrote em back and ask when would we do this, Feb 1,2,3,and 4 2006. Ok, but we have a small problem:
1st My boat is ubder 2 inches plus of snow and winterized.
2nd the Son-in-law lives 5 hours from my home to his in Waldport. I enclosed a pic from his porch of a rough ocean.
3rd. The ocean is having some hiccupps right now and seas are running 12 to 25 ft with winds in the 20 to 60 mph area depending on the day you peak at the bouy.
4th. I have a general policy that I don't leave the dock when the bar is closed in Newport.
5th, I think it would be better if we could do this in May when we start to fish for Halibut out of Newport.

Here is the reply from the Editor:
Would be glad to meet with you and your son-in-law when weather conditions are more favorable. Sometime in May will be fine. I will contact you in Late April to confirm conditions are good to take our shoot.

This will be the 3rd tale that I have had in print by a magzine. Going to have to change the boat name to
3-Fishtales

Wow, that sounds great. Congrats on the photo-op. Probably won't be too hard hooking another shark to recreate the story......

Motto came from this episode in my boating life, one should not hold a camera with both hands when the ocean is a little bumpy and lean over the side to catch that pic. Thank god for the radar arch I have on the boat. I can say, that my arch does support a 280 lb man in full swing mode.
I think we must have looked like the high wire act for a little while. I had to threaten the crew to get'em all to stop laughing so darn hard. I never new I could entertain a crowd that well.

Now if I could only (remeber) the story that I wrote to have created so much intrest. I just write and forget that I should save a copy before e-mailing off. Oh-Well!

... that's a pretty good marketing tool that Trophy started couple years back, real people in actual boats having a great time ... though I don't own a Trophy, I pick it up when I stop by the dealer as they don't just focus on new Trophy's but on folks that have had theirs for awhile. Couple issues back they did story on two brothers that fished the Columbia and a story on family out of the Puget Sound ... we'll look forward to seeing your story!
