Default Prop choices for Yami F225

Swapping out the pump for the prop on my 22' Intruder next week and wondering whatt other folks are running on their F225. BTW, I have an 80 gal fuel tank if that makes a diff, and am looking for salt water performance.

If you a runnign an F225, I'd be interested in knowing the following

Type of boat
Prop Pitch
Prop Diameter

Regards,
SA

Let me start by saying I'm NOT running an F225 so take this with a grain of salt. I'm running a Merc 225 EFI on a 21' Tundra. I'm turning a 21P Tempest and it handles awesome, 55 mph at 5400 RPM with a pretty heavy load and as much as 60 mph with an empty boat.

My guess is that for best rough water/saltwater performance you'll want to consider a 4-blade prop, although I've had great luck with the 3-blade Tempest. I'd test run a 19P Trophy Plus and a 19P Rev 4 as good guesses. I have a 21P Trophy you'd be welcome to borrow to test your RPMs with, although you would probably want to plug the vent holes for better low-RPM performance.

If you want the ultimate in hole shot and low-end performance you can try a 5-blade High 5 in about 21P. The drawback is really lousy reverse. But it's a great performing prop and might be just the ticket in really rough water. Top speed can be surprisingly good despite all the blades.

I'd definitely try stainless and I'd definitely try to test run a few props before you decide. Good luck!

I would start with your boat manufacturer first for suggestions. Your prop choice matched with your boat type, weight, etc... needs to keep the engine in the correct upper RPM range at WOT, or you will risk engine damage. It may even take playing with a few props (if the prop dealer lets you) to find the right combination.
