Turkey within 40miles of Hillsboro?

I've never hunted them, but I've watched lots of videos. I hunt the Wilson, Scappose and Saddle Mt units for other critters, but I've never seen Turkeys.

Is there any area to Turkey hunt within 40 miles of Hillsboro? Please don't recommend somebody's front yard.

There is a few around Hagg Lake. They also planted a few around Gods Valley on the Nehelem years ago but quit because they were not native to the area. There are a some in the NW of the state, but they are few and far between.

Hey I would not waste your time at Hagg lake. I live up on tanner creek road around the lake for the last 11 years, and there hasn't been any turkeys in big flocks there for about 3 years. Now you might see a turkey here in there around the area but good luck getting permission they are the owners pets.I know some friends that had some on there land in the last years, and they won't even let me on there land to hunt. SO I would try going down south around Medford, Were there is some turkeys,then that would not be within 30 miles.

I would have to say, if your looking inside forty miles , go to safeway I have seen them roosting in the meat department
