Default Preferance Points / Where to Hunt.

I don't know if I have enough points to put in for a area like Starky, or what.
Thanks Oregonsportman for the info.

For a Starkey hair tag to have a better than even chance I believe you need 5 points. I've got 4 now and am trying to decide whether to keep holding out for a unit such as Wenaha or to put in for a unit which will draw w/ 4 points and then become a stick flicker............decisions

With 3 points I think you have a very good shot at drawing Starkey. Last year they gave out 1,778 tags and there were 2,568 first choice applicants, so it's very possible.

For the hair tag in Starkey if I've done my research correctly you need 5 points to have a decent chance to draw.

You're probably right. I've never put in for it so River-Rat I would take his advice over mine. I was just going by what the numbers look like, good luck!

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helv">Accoriding to the 2004 Oregon tag guide you need 6 points to draw the Starkey (252C1) hunt for sure and you have ~1:10 chance with 5 points and a 2% chance with less than 5. The Cow tag (252F is a gimme with 3 points (100%) and 8% below 3. The south starkey (252D1) hunt is a 66% chance with 3 point and all other hunts are a sure thing with 3.

Good luck,

Brian
