Default Left Handed Shooter

I'm left handed and shoot a benelli m1 right Handed and a winchester super x right handed. but lately ive been shooting my benelli because i hit much better with it. so i was thinking about mabey trading both guns on a left handed m2 benelli. so i guess im asking if a left handed shooter will shoot a left handed gun better than a right handed gun, at least shotgunning wise? hoping some of you ifishers have been thru this to!!
thanks.

I'm a lefty and have a right hand Beretta 390 and a Benelli SBE in left hand. Doesn't make a difference.... still can't hit anything .

Seriously, the only difference is that you won't have shells flying across your face but that has never made any difference to me (but it could be a distraction for others). A bolt action rifle is the only firearm that I have found a preference for in a left hand action. Even then, I still occasionally use a Remchester 700 in righthand.

I would make sure you are properly fitted for the current shotgun(s) before changing to a left hand action. Unless, of course, you are bothered by the ejected shells - then you would likely see some improvement.

I am a lefty. I have always shot right handed shotguns, pumps and auto's. I dont think it matters for shooting ability. I do know if I switched now and the safety was on the trigger guard like a remington I would be messed up for sure.

I use a Weatherby in right hand for upland birds and a Remington 870 supermagnum in Left for ducks and geese. I don't notice any differnce shooting. I do have some problems with the safety when I first switch. I take some razzing for having the safety on the first couple of flights but I work it out.

All my shotguns have the top tang safety. You can learn to shoot most anything with time and practice, but, safety plays a big part in hunting. I prefer O/U and BPS.

Pumps and auto's are generally universal in that they have a straight stock. O/U's do come in both right and left hand versions though. We have a L/H Browning Citori on the rack that will fit me like a glove but hand it to a right hander and they will about break their neck trying to look straight down the barrel.
Again, fit has more to do with a shotgun than anything else. Which side the shells come out doesn't make a bit of difference.

I would tell you from experience that what matters most is if you're left or right-eye dominant. You should shoot on the side of your dominant eye or you'll run into all kind of problems...
