Default E. Beulah - Public Land?

I was wondering if anyone had any information on exactly how much public land was accessable during elk season in the east beulah unit. The hunt description lists public land at 50%, but the hunt is colored red for private lands limiting access. I'm not looking for directions to anyone hunting spots, just curious on how much public land is actually accessable.

Call the fish and wildlife dept in that area and ask them. Tehy should know and be able to tell you. Call State forestry and BLM ask the same questions they all have to know and should help you to know. Hope this helps.

I was a "lucky" sole a few years ago and accidently drew these great tags. The majority of the 50% public lands are grass lands. There are some good spots, but the hunting is limited and heavily pressured by the public hunters that get stuck there. The private land is patrolled by the land owners and their ranch hands, as I was told by the troopers. They told us that it was not a good idea to cross an unmarked fence at anytime and if we did shoot an elk that crossed a fence, we were to come and find the troopers before persuing our game.
If I was to ever be blessed with these tags again, I'd save my vacation.
If you want a better hunt, go for the West Beulah tags and stay as high on the mountain as you can.
Good luck!
