Default "Fish Cabo" had another great day. (Monday update)

Bud and Michele took Friday off from Tuna to get some Scuba time in. They have been working on their certifications in Portland for the past few months and Friday was their first "real" dive. Everything went to plan and they enjoyed some great sea life.

Yesterday (Saturday) the crew boarded "Fish Cabo" again and they were treaded to more HOT action!

Stats for the day:
Landed 15 out of 17 Tuna hooked. (only kept 5, the Mexican boat limit)

Bud landed his largest Tuna todate- unofficial weight of 70lbs but they are calling it 62lbs in honor of Dick's (TunaTime) 62nd birthday (which was yesterday, Happy Birthday Dick).

2 QUADS hooked with all 8 fish coming to the boat.

Again the Fred Archer Bars were the ticket with the Cedar Plug Chains... The same Cedar Plug chains we fish up here.

I talked to him 3 times yesterday, he was like 7 year old with a brand new bike. I loved it!

I'm not sure what their plans for today are but if I hear from them I'll let you know. As if you really want to hear...

So this morning (Monday) at 6:33am I get a call. It’s Bud… They got an early start because of today will be short trip with some rough weather. They put out the spread and within 10 min a Striped Marlin was hitting a jig. They dropped back some bait and WHAM, fish on. Dick locked up and the fight was on! 6’ wind chop, 8’ swells, 25mph wind… About 40mims later they had the fish at the boat, 150lbs+.

They are going to fish as long as they can. They’re out again on “Fish Cabo”, a 43’ Hatteras, so it’s not all that bad. Unless you are Dick, alone in the pit doing battle as the captain backs into those swells…

Oh joy, its 8am, its dark, its RAINING and my ankle really hurts. Damn you Bud, Damn you…

I will KeyWest, thanks!

I just got another call. They were trying to get to the Tuna grounds but the 10' seas were a little too much. Turned for shore and found a nice spot out of the wind.

About 15 mins into the troll an 80lbs Wahoo was hooked on a pink Zuker behind a purple Teaser. More Cabo fish killed on Bud's Oregon gear... Congrats to Dick (TunaTime) once again for landing another fish! What a day so far.

And you'll all love this... Bud, Dick and their wifes have had such a great time with Doug that they are staying down a few extra days. Must be nice...

5 for fighting,

Thanks for the updates, it makes us all very envious. Please tell Bud congrats for me and that there is certainly no reason to hurry home. Duck hunting has slowed down, rivers are all out of shape and the weather is not appropriate for drinking Tequilla.

Bud and I had that talk this morning Greg.

After he went on and on for a while I asked if he'd like my Portland report. Needless to say he got a kick out of it.

This weather has really hepled the Cabo house sales pitch on Seely. I'm sure he'll have sometime soon.

When are you headed back to your place?

Returned about a week ago, had a nice Christmas with family and some great fishing. Have plans to get back by late March or early May, but after this rain, we may move things up a little.
Real estate continues to go absolutely crazy in Cabo and surrounding areas (no end in sight).
Thanks again for the updates, keep us posted.

We are in cabo this week and going fishing for marlin tomorrow first time. Tell Bud happy birthday. My wife's was today. If I knew how to reach him, I would buy him a birthday beer.
