Hi LTF,
I've been living on a ranch between Prineville and Brothers for the last 6 years, have made a lot of inquiries and a few explorations, but not much for upland birds. Isolated covies of quail and scattered dove hotspots. Let me know if you find anything good, or would like company (with a good wirehair pointer) in further searches.

Re: Upland game hunting in Central Oregon
I took my GWP to the hills outside of Sisters and limited on grouse a couple of time. I didn't find any quail but my hunting area was very limited on both trips. The grouse population was good enough for me to make the long trip again.

a lot of the land is posted there my grandparents live there and my grandpa was a real big hunter and had a lot of land and he said all the good land is taken :depressed:
i hunted the areas around McKenzie Bridge last september and saw decent numbers of grouse and quail. after 4 days my brother-in-law and i left with 2 posession limits of ruffed Grouse plus one Blue and maybe a dozen quail. all of this was incidental to our deer hunting which was the prime reason for being there. with a dog we could have easly cleaned up on a lot more quail.
we plan on going down again this coming season a few times in the early part of the season. if you want to hook up you can ask brett for my number.
