Have you picked a town? What sort of lodging and fishing experience do you want?

The last time I went to East Cape was in 89 and I stayed
at Spa Buena Vista. The price was right the resort beautiful
the food was great and the fishing was fantastic. I highly recommend it. Do your home work on the internet regarding
the fishing calendar. Ask yourself what species you want to
fish for and schedule accordingly. There are a few nice places to stay down there and there is plenty of info on the
net to get you going..........good luck and have a great time.

My wife and I went to East Cape last year at this time.
We were to stay at a place called Punta Colorado.
My brothers have gone before.
We rented a car and stayed in cabo for 2 nights, then drove to this place.
We got out and discovered that there were 50 catholic priest at the hotel.
There was a event that they had not told us about.
The manager told us that we could stay, but the wife didnt like the idea.(It was ment for them
It just so happened that they owned a resort in Los Burrilis and we could stay there for the same cost.
Well we ,out of options said yes.
Probibily the best thing that could happen.
We went to this resort-fishing retreat and checked in.
We soon found out that a car was useless here.
A 4 wheeler was the way to go.
$100,00 PER DAY. or $400.00 per week or something like that.
They provided 3 meals a day in a good kitchen.
We only ate breakfest and dinner there.
We were always gone at lunch.
The fishing sucked, but there at wrong time.
I,m told to go in march -sept, period.
It was the most fun.
This retreat will pick you up at airport in los Cabos and then rent a 4 wheeler when you get there.
The accomidations were great, and if the fishing was good, it would be heaven.
CHECK IT OUT;;;;;;;;

We were thinking of Punta Colorada, looks like it would be closer to the fishing grounds. We stayed at a place called Martin Verdugos in Los Barriles in oct of 04 it was good but it took for ever to reach the fish. We did Ok Yellow fin, dorado, wahoo.Thought we would try something different.

Have been to the east cape about half a dozen times. Most the places are similar and fairly inexpensive. I did notice that the boat prices have gone up quite a bit. My favorite is the Palmas de Cortez. You can walk to town and the grocery store. (cheap beer) Save your empties for return. They are worth almost as much as the beer.
May is a good time, later (hotter) even better. Here is a link: http://www.palmasdecortez.com/
Everyone at these places are there to fish. You'll meet some really good people. Nights are quiet as everyone goes to bed early. Food is good and included with your room.
Have a great time. You will catch a marlin.

Spent my Honeymoon at Punta Colorado. (Did I marry the right girl or what??)Good accomodations and food, Great sunrises. Fishing was not too good -in March- We rented a VW Bug at the airport and drove all over. Even found one of the little towns with a zoo! It was a great place to be.
When I go back to Baja, though, it'll be to Mulege-Punta Chivato-San Lucas Cove. If you've never been in that area, you really should think about it.
