Re: ted nugent hunting show
No problem with him being an idoit, but if he was an idiot I would be concerned.
Remember, it is television. He has to be somewhat animated to get ratings but for the most part he is one of the good guys.
I like him just because his politics and flamboyant in your face attitude is a refreshing smack down to the left.

Re: ted nugent hunting show
I know Ted is a little extreme at times, but in my opinion if we all spent as much time promoting the outdoor life-style and family values as Ted, it would be a much better world to live in! And by the way, go to his web-site and look at the long long list of awards the outdoor community has given him for his work! Also Fishstik what is "a idoit" I did a search and could not find it anywhere? It must be a word you understand and us "IDIOTS" just may never get

Re: ted nugent hunting show
fishstik, I agree with you in that his show is hard to watch. He comes on a too strong and many of his hunts are pretty lame. This is just my personal opinion on his show.
However, Ted Nugent is by no means an idiot. He's done a lot for the sport and for wildlife management. He truly means well. He's just got a "in your face" kind of personna and he talks too much.
But he is no idiot.

Ted Nuggett is a good red blooded American that stands up for our hunting rights and beleives in teaching our children the morals that this country needs. He may be a freak, but everybody has a different personality, its just who he is.

Re: ted nugent hunting show
He may be a little over the top, but 3 things are abundantly clear...
-He's a very accomplished bowhunter
-He's a high profile personality
-He's on our side
3 out of 4 ain't bad, huh? Besides...how many of you can ride a buffalo?

Re: ted nugent hunting show
The only thing "wrong" (as some might say) with Ted is that he is not PC.
He doesn't care if you don't like his lifestyle and if you are offended by him, he won't loose any sleep over it.
He is an impassioned hunter, father and conservationist. No one asked him to be a 'spokesman' for gun and hunter rights. He is driven by his personal believes and stands firmly on the rights and traditions he is afforded under the constitution and freedoms of our country.
Personally, I think we could all learn a lot from Ted. I am not saying we should be just like him in personality, but a little more active passion for our sport could go a long way.

Re: ted nugent hunting show
ted rocks!!!!!! his music shows how much energy he has. with that energy, he has chosen to do something for hunting that all of us on this forum can appreciate. yes his personality is a bit overwhelming, but wouldn't you rather have an outspoken member in the hunting community promoting family morals and values along with fair chase rules for hunting unlike the other shows out there that show a guy walk into a fence and kill a 400+ bull that has no where to run?
i once watched one of his shows when he took a kid pig hunting on his ranch. the kid wounded the pig, then they went after it and it started to run through the timber. instead of letting the pig get away, he took the gun from the youngster and shot it on a dead run through lodge pole pines. now you tell me, what would you have done? would you have let that pig get away to die a long painful death or would you have done like ted?????? i believe in taking anyone who knows less than you out hunting or fishing. i believe in showing people what is right and what is not. i think ted showed ALOT of respect for the pig by taking its life asap so it did not suffer. i think all of us have something to learn from him. what are your opinions on that???

Re: ted nugent hunting show
Ted's show is somewhat of a comedy. But if I was alone in the midst of the Anti's I would want Ted there to back me. He absolutley, 100% know's his stuff. He could wipe out an entire army of Anti's with his verbal skills and knowledge. I take my hat off to the motor city madman!!! AMEN to Mr. Nugent. He will fight for our right to hunt when all other's are gone.

Re: ted nugent hunting show
I like Ted's show and his music. I think people are just jealous of his energy. I just wish I had his energy. I'm 33 and after work Im ready for a rocker and blanket. Here are a couple quotes that kind of some up Ted. I think you'll all agree...
"Be an extremist. ‘Live free or die’ is extreme. I play extreme, firebreathing rock ’n’ roll, greasy rhythm and blues guitar . . . . I love my family extremely. . . . Michael Jordan is an extreme athlete. I hate the IRS extremely. I extremely believe in my independence and individuality. I drive an extreme truck. I sleep extremely quietly. . . . I believe in the Ten Commandments and the Constitution extremely. . . . Rosa Parks was an extremist. I am extremely suspicious of Michael Jackson, Jann Wenner, Tom Brokaw, Dan Rather, Peter Jennings, Charles Schumer, Jesse Jackson, Janet Reno, Sarah Brady, the Rev. Al Sharpton (yeah, and if Als’ a reverend, I’m the Dalai Lama with a Glock), Al Gore, Louis Farrakhan, Bill Clinton, Dianne Feinstein, Bill Bradley, the Ku Klux Klan, the NAACP, Jeffery Feiger, and most lawyers and judges. Extremely."
Another.....
"The rapid sequential pulsations of an M16 held tight in my hands, virtually spitting out a torrent of lead, is truly ballistic heaven. My idea of a rainbow is an arch of flowing brass over my shoulder, piling up at my feet ’til the barrel glows a sunrise orange and someone forces me to stop. Full auto is music to my ears and a sensual serenade to every bone, muscle, and nerve in my body." Ted Nugent - God, Guns, & Rock n’ Roll
Quite poetic I'm sure you'll agree. I wish we had a guy like this in Congress. It's like "The Night of the Living Dead" in there.

Re: ted nugent hunting show
I am From Michigan, I have met Ted, In the woods bow hunting for deer. He had just shot a doe and He was the nicest down to earth guy I ever met out hunting. Now the funny part. I didn't have a clue who he was until after I helped him drag the doe to his truck. Then he told me. I was in shock and I was only 18. he's welcome at my campfire anytime!!!

Like a lot of "shock personalities" his message gets lost to some who focus on the presentation intead of the message.
I'm in 100% agreement with his message. He loves, God, Family, Country, Hunting, Conservation, Kids, His wife, Sobriety, V-8 engines, Whackin stuff with his bow, respecting it, and eating it.
Man oh man, I love that guy.

Re: ted nugent hunting show
Fishstik- Have you tried his shoes on? The accomplishments and accolades this man has made in hunting are unheard of. His passion for the outdoors and having family involved rivals most if not all people of his status.
Would you Fishstik accept the role he has taken, with self-election, as Mr. Nugent has? What about Buzz Ramsey, and Bill Herzog? Do they attempt to protray and promote family in the outdoors?
Do you Fishstik, understand the demographics of the people who "enjoy" what his show provides? Take into the consideration, if all the licencesd hunters in Michigan were an army, they would be the second or third largest in the world. Mr. Nugent lives in state that gives a week of school off to all students for opening week of deer season. The only song you hear on the radio the day before the deer season is "Fred Bear" or "Great White Buffalo", not to mention he goes by the nickname of "Uncle Ted".
Do you have a wear your heart on your shirt sleeve attitude, such as Mr. Nugents, that promotes nothing more than any time outdoors with family is rivaled by none. Perhaps the strongest singular foundation this country applied i.e. The Homestead Act".
This man should receive nothing but Thanks for the light he has brought to our past-time. He is our un nominated leader in the battle against groups and organizations that strive to end our enjoyment spent with family outdoors. While all we do is sit and type messages amongst ourselves bickering, he steps forward and take all of them on!
While you Fishstik criticize a "made for T.V" show of Ted Nugent's he is achieving more success in prolonging our enjoyment, our freedom to roam around "wackem, and stackem", than you or I sitting here typing messages.
Be careful what you criticize. You may very well help the people, foundations, and organizations that Ted Nugent keeps at bay.
Brett

Re: ted nugent hunting show
I personally respect the hell out of Uncle Ted. He's honest. The first time I watched his show, he had made a less than desirable shot on an animal, rear of the vitals, and couldn't find the critter that night. He found it the next morning and the animal ended up on his family's table as "the purest of protein". Point is, he was honest enough to air that episode when he just as easily could have omitted it. He aired it as a lesson.
He's courageous in my book. I know of other celebrities who hunt but are too timid to voice it. It's more popular in Hollywood to eat tofu and alphalfa than (God forbid) a wild animal! The man says what he means and means what he says, and I think he'd rather lose a gig than be untrue to himself. He's extremely active in promoting and saving the hunting lifestyle. He uses his celebrity status to promote our cause, and he does it passionately, credibly and intelligently.
He's a true American. He would defend your right to voice your opinion of him, critical or not. Read his book "God, Guns and Rock&Roll". You might come away with a better opinion of him. He's no saint, and he doesn't claim to be one. But I'm proud to show people my Mathews bow, autographed by Ted.
By the way, I looked all over in the dictionary and couldn't find the word "idoit".

Re: ted nugent hunting show
Have watched quite a few of his shows and during one of them a couple of years back they mentioned that he had gotten a rather significant award for his series. Personally, I have found his shows to be a lot better for hunting than some I have seen where they shot elk out of the back of pickups and moose from the cutty cabin on a river boat. Frankly, some of these so called hunting shows give hunting a bad rap. I haven't found one of his to fall into that category. My only complaint with some of his more recent shows is that he spends to much time on the air showing his rock concerts and less time actually hunting.

Re: ted nugent hunting show
You either love him or hate him. I love the guy. A no-nonense, true sportsman who stands up for what he loves. What more could you ask for. Heres one of my all time favorites from the Motor City Madman himself. Enjoy.
I'm A Bad American
by Ted Nugent
I like big trucks, big boats, big houses, and naturally,
pretty women.
I believe the money I make belongs to me and my family, not some midlevel governmental functionary with a bad comb-over who wants to give it away to crack addicts squirting out babies.
I don't care about appearing compassionate.
I think playing with toy guns doesn't make you a killer – I believe ignoring your kids and giving them Prozac might.
I think I'm doing better than the homeless.
I don't think being a minority makes you noble or victimized.
I have the right not to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird or make me mad. This is my life to live, and not necessarily up to others expectations.
I know what SEX is and there are not varying degrees of it.
I don't celebrate Kwanzaa. But if you want to that's fine; just don't feel like everyone else should have to.
I believe that if you are selling me a Dairy Queen shake, a pack of cigarettes, or hotel room you do it in English. As of matter of fact, if you are an American citizen you should speak English. My uncles and forefathers shouldn't have had to die in vain so you can leave the
countries you were born in to come disrespect ours, and make us bend to your will. Get over
it.
I think the cops have every right to shoot your sorry butt if you're running from them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word 'freeze' or 'stop' in English, see the previous line.
I don't use the excuse "it's for the children" as a shield for unpopular opinions or actions.
I know how to count votes and I feel much safer letting a machine with no political affiliation do a recount when needed.
I know what the definition of lying is, and it isn't based on the word "is" -- ever.
I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you qualify for any special loan programs, gov't sponsored bank loans, etc., so you can open a hotel, 7-Eleven, trinket shop, or any thing else, while the indigenous peoples can't get past a high school education because they can't afford it.
I didn't take the initiative in inventing the Internet.
I thought the Taco Bell dog was funny.
I want them to bring back safe and sane fireworks.
I believe no one ever died because of something Ozzy Osbourne, Ice-T or Marilyn Manson sang, but that doesn't mean I want to listen to that crap from someone else's car when I'm stopped at a red light. But I respect your right to.
I think that being a student doesn't give you any more enlightenment than working at Blockbuster or Jack In The Box.
I don't want to eat or drink anything with the words light, lite or fat-free on the package.
Our soldiers did not go to some foreign country and risk their lives in vain and defend our Constitution so that decades later you can tell me it's a living document ever changing and is open to interpretation. The guys who wrote it were light years ahead of anyone today, and they meant what they said -- now leave the document alone, or there's going to be trouble.
I don't hate the rich.
I help the poor.
I know wrestling is fake.
I've never owned, or was a slave, and a large percentage of our forefathers weren't wealthy enough to own one either. Please stop blaming me because some prior white people were idiots -- and remember, tons of white, Indian, Chinese, and other races have been enslaved too -- it was wrong for every one of them.
I believe a self-righteous liberal with a cause is more dangerous than a Hell's Angel with an attitude.
I want to know exactly which church is it where the "Reverend" Jessie Jackson preaches; and, what exactly is his job function.
I own a gun, you can own a gun, and any red blooded American should be allowed to own a gun, but if you use it in a crime, then you will serve the time.
I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it makes you mad, then invent the next operating system that's better and put your name on the building. Ask your buddy that invented the Internet to help you.
I don't believe in hate crime legislation. Even suggesting it makes me mad. You're telling me that someone who is a minority, gay, disabled, another nationality, or otherwise different from the mainstream of this country has more value as a human being that I do as a white male. If
someone kills anyone, I'd say that it's a hate crime. We don't need more laws! Let's
enforce the ones we already have.
I think turkey bacon, turkey beef, turkey fake anything stinks.
I believe that it doesn't take a village to raise a child – it takes a parent with the guts to stand up to the kid and spank his butt and say "NO!" when it's necessary to do so.
I'll admit that the only movie that ever made me cry was Ole Yeller.
I didn't realize Dr. Seuss was a genius until I had a kid.
I will not be frowned upon or be looked down upon or be made to keep silent because I have these beliefs and opinions. I thought this country allowed me that right. I will not conform or compromise just to keep from hurting somebody's feelings. I'm neither angry nor disenfranchised, no matter how desperately the mainstream media would like the world to believe otherwise.
Yes, I guess by some people's definition, I may be a bad American.
But that's tough!!!

Re: ted nugent hunting show
Ted Nugent is a awsome figure for us sportsmen to have fighting fot us Ted does more radio shows and fights harder then any other celebrity out there. He gets just as happy shooting a doe as shooting a 10 point buck. Most other shows only show hunting trophy animals, and if all of us just harvested trophy animals then there would be none left. I have hunted with Ted Nugent 2 times and he is awsome and gets as excited about others harvest as his own. I have been the state director for Ted Nugent United Sportsman of America for the last 5 years and would encourage any of you to join our fight for our hunting, gun rights, sportsman freedoms we have to fight harder and harder for every day. Please email me for more info. God bless Ted Nugent for all he has done. Also we must be united weather you hunt with a compond bow or traditional bow, rifle, handgun, rock, or spear. If its a leagle form of hunting we need to all fight together and not fight amongst each other.
