Default Lewis and Clark Ducks

Anyone been out there in this high water? Can you get to the ramp at Aldrich? How'd you do for puddles and divers?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Generally I live down there, but this season I have not been out since before Christmas.

I am to get out for 1 or 2 more hunts in the Stealthbomber before I have to give her to the guy that has bought her.

Will be a kind of sad day. Was a great boat.

I think you could still use the launch down there. The river is so wide downstream of Clifton Channel, that i think it would take some seriously high tide, and major flooding to swamp the launch.

Big Fish - the ducks are NOT there. actually, you will see the divers, but the puddlers are all in the fields in the surrounding areas.

I haven't been down in a week or so and probably won't be again this year. the last time we were down there the high tide was coming up into the parking lot at the launch.

Though in the Brownsmead area, there have been slides and railroad dike wash-outs, the road to and the ramp at Aldrich Point is as usual.

Local reports from local hunters have been that dabbler hunting is no good. I don't know anyone who I see on a regular basis that I can get diver information on.

Since the day after Christmas, I have been planning hunts upriver and have cancelled them all. These days, I'm now a "fair weather" waterfowler, (not just because I don't like to get wet but personal records prove to me I do just as good if not better on rainless days) so you know the reason for my cancelling hunts as of late.

Scheduled another hunt for MLK Day and a couple days after that and will see if I can't bag a few good dabblers for the roaster. May have to go even if not "fair weather" as the season is drawing quickly to the end. And...will this rain ever stop? The latest system starting dumping here on the lower CR at around daybreak and it ain't looking good for next week either.

Thanks for the info on the ramp and confirming my instinct about the birds. After driving through the flooded fields around Forest Grove today and only seeing 5 mallards, then reading the California post. The birds have had to much of this Oregon winter.

It's a long drive to Aldrich for 3 divers but is a fun shoot, decisions decisions.

is a great boat. Don't put her down yet, she still needs to take you out and back on 2 more trips.
