Default Xbox 360

OK, who has one?

What games do you love?

I just picked up my premium system this afternoon, but now I need some games.

So much for fishing! I'm going to be glued to my tv for a few weeks!

Call of duty 2 is amazing on the 360. Gotta have a HD tv to get the most out of it.

Unbelievably, we got ours before Xmas....a good friend's sister is a manager at a certain store here in town, and 3 machines unexpectedly came in on Dec 10th or so. She called us to come and get it. Yes, it was an inside deal, but what the heck...

BTW, I hooked it up to our 52' HDTV and it is amazing.

I picked one up a couple weeks ago from wall mart when they ran the add in the paper on a Sunday.

If you havn't signed up for XBOX Live do youself a favor and sign up. You get a month free of the GOld service and after that it turns into a Silver (free). Once your signed up you can go to the market place and download for free all kinds of arcade games like Joust. But even better than that you can download working Demo's of games. This is really great since most console games are bought on blind faith or reviews. There's one new demo that has everyone drooling called "fight nights" or something like that. It's boxing and let me tell you the boxers look darn near photorealistic. I'm not a big fan of boxing games but I'm addicted to this demo. Also put your xbox on the network so you can play all your mp3's during games. This system really is slick.

Enjoy!

If you can only afford one system than that's a good strategy. I have yet to see anything but vaporware from SOny and I believe with the Blu-Ray DVD drive the price will be much higher than the XBOX but we will have to wait and see. Maybe they will be filling us in at E3 this spring.

Probably the EA Sports Fight Night Series. My buddy has Fight Night Round 2 for PS2 and it rocks. We pound the poo out of each other. Even on PS2 it is realistic. Can't imagine on XBOX 360. If you ever buy any kind of sports game, make sure it is from EA Sports. They are the best in sports. Can't wait to play NCAA Football on XBOX 360.

They have a demo of quake4. I played it. It seemed ok but I'm not a big fan of quake so my review isn't worth much.

i'd like to grow my buddy list on xbox live (xbox 360) for some good gaming (read: honest fair non-cheating gaming!). I'm "sam i am 652" so look me up. Halo 2; Ghost Recon 3 are the two main games in my box.

I've had one since launch, pretty nice machine but I'm kinda underwhelmed with it. The games have either been pushed back or they're just ports of Xbox games with better graphics. Gears of War, Tony Hawk Project 8, Call Of Duty 3 all come out next week. The PS3 might as well be non-existant with a meeger offering of 400k consoles at launch. Next year will be the year to really judge these systems, so I guess that's something to look forward too.

I really want to get one, but I'll keep playing the original Xbox either until they stop making games for it completely or until the price drops on the 360.

07 is the last year of support, and with all of the new consoles coming out this Christmas, next year will very slim for the Xbox. I don't think will see a price drop unless Sony really starts gobbling up the market. MS really isn't worried about the Nintendo because it has it's own market share.

I have high speed, but the modem is in our office. I've actually never really looked into Xbox Live. What is the monthly cost for it and does it matter if you are using an Xbox or Xbox 360?

I play mostly on my Dell monitor so I feed off my router the majority of the time, but I also have the Xbox wireless adapter for when the wife lets me play on the big tv

i have the linksys WRT54G and it works fine. I have noticed one problem. The wireless xbox 360 controllers work on the frequency 802.11g. I recommend if you go wireless for your network, use the 802.11b frequency. The Linksys WRT54G will do both "G" and "B", however it's the wireless adapter elsewhere in the house that I bought in "G", so it's "G" I use. When gaming with friends most times they complain of interference with the second or third controller, which is corrected by simply shutting off the wireless function of my router. My xbox 360 is hard-wired with a 15 foot cable through my office wall to the living room where the 360 is, so it doesn't need the wireless, but other laptops in the house need it.
XBOX Live isn't necessary for any of the games, but for Halo 2 and Ghost Recon 3, along with Burnout Revenge (the three 360 games I play mostly) it's fun to be able to play with real people, strategize, trash-talk, etc. The computer enemy gets boring and predictable, and real-live human opponents on Ghost Recon is great. I think XBOX Live costs about $50/year. You should check out the xbox live website and read up on their information. they have tutorials for networks, and the prices. I believe there's a free version of XBOX Live so you can download game updates distributed through Microsoft, as well as updates to the software on your xbox 360. I also used XBL to purchase an expansion pack of maps and weapons for Ghost Recon 3.
