Luhr Jensen and Hazardous releases of toxic waste.

On my way home from work I heard a story on the radio about Luhr Jensen in Hood River. I didn't catch it all but it had to do with them getting cited for releases of hazardous waste water and toxic paint residue into the air. It was from the by product of their plating and painting operations.

The report said that they had a history of this kind of thing and that they had been cited three times before. Once in the 1980's, 1997, 2001 and now this year.

Well I guess that is how they kept their prices down by illegal dumping and not putting proper environmental controls in place.

The report did say that the company is contesting the citations. Anybody else hear about this?

Hmmm, I looked at their website, and it looks like they have been sold to Rapala/VMC
