Convention, Tuna Tourney, Free stuff & 1000th post
Well, I figure if it's going to be my 1000th post, might as well make it a good 'un!
I am hoping that everybody swings by the booth at the convention we have in Newport and says hi. I really look forward to meeting as many people from I-Fish as I can.
So.....here's some info.
Nalu Charters will be giving away 2 individual salmon or bottom fishing trips at the convention, and it is based on the following:
1 trip will be as a raffle entry that Rod and the guys have put together.
The 2nd trip will be given away to someone who probably doesn't need it! Who might that be? Someone that will help make the I-Fish for Food tuna tourney a success, or someone that makes a donation to I-Fish. A drawing will be held for anybody that stops by the booth and drops off a donation, commits to giving some sort of donation, or signs up for the tuna tourney.
What sort of donation? I don't care! It can be a donation to I-Fish monetarily, it could be an item to be given away at the tourney, or it could be for a very serious time commitment at the tourney, such as set-up or tear down of the area, cooking, etc.
Is that open enough? We'll have more information available at the show, but the goal is that from any means neccessary we try to make the I-Fish for Food events fun for everyone. We already have sponsors lined up, and we'll have more by the show. Great local people in Garibaldi and Newport are already stepping up to make this event take place. Stop by the Nalu Charters booth, and the Big Tuna Marine booth to get your info!
Just today, Lamiglas commited their support, and prizes for the event. Thought last year was cool? This years promises to be AWESOME! And for a really worthwile cause!
It's been my privelege to be a posting participent here on I-Fish. It was even more of an honor to be able to become a sponsor, and an official I-Fish charter. Because of I-Fish, and the Salty Dogs I have been able to be a part of things I'm really proud of such as I-Fish for food, and open seats for soldiers.
So for my 1000th post, I'd just like to say thank you to Jennie, and all of you great people that have made this community so great.
Thank you.

Re: Convention, Tuna Tourney, Free stuff & 1000th post
I hope this would be a welcomed offer Nalu, I hope it will be OK to post it here & we certainly will make a point to meet you at the convention as well, but we would like to offer a 2 night stay at the cutest little fishing cabin in Depoe Bay that is just a couple of minutes walk from the docks, it has all the amenities a person could want but nothing fancy--it just screams of fishing. (It just doesn't smell of it!!) This is not a vacation rental, just a part of our own get away & its where our guests usually stay (We have 2 living quarters on our lot)
Maybe someone who takes one of your charters would appreciate a place to stay, and we always appreciate the opportunity to share the cabin with those who love the ocean & all it has to offer,
Anyway-if this is what your talkin' bout-count us in!!
SG & Hubby
PS sleeps 2-3 (has queen size fouton & upper bunk)

Re: Convention, Tuna Tourney, Free stuff & 1000th
Hoggemin, Hanapa'a Time, thanks for the kind words. I know I'm a bit opinionated, and a tad passionate, but I feel I am in good company on this board.
Spinnergal and your hubby- Thank you very much! That is above and beyond the expectation, but so certainly appreciated.
We know that everyone involved with participating in the I-Fish for Food tourney will be giving of themselves to do so. By such gracious donations, and help from people such as yourselves, our corporate sponsors, and our partners we hope to get to the point that everyone participating leaves feeling not only good about what they did....but perhaps they got something nice as well!!
Thank you so much!!!

Re: Convention, Tuna Tourney, Free stuff & 1000th
I contribute every year, this just makes it easier. I'll see you all at the convention. If my wife lets me buy the boat I'm looking at, I'll be part of the tuna tourney.
