New Member's Story
Here is my story
I first want to preface this by saying no animals were hurt in the making of this story.
It all started back in the year of nineteen hundred and ninety seven. First day of elk season I was hunting in an area where I have hunted the last four years. My tag along was a fellow fireman who has never hunted elk. Our hunting party was droped off in the area and we made our plans. My partner and I were to make this loop and meet back with the party in a couple of hours. We headed off into the dark and afterwhile we came to a cliff. Like most elk hunts there was snow on the ground. I wanted to get a closer look at the bottom of the cliff. Like a good hunting partner he said "don't go to close, knowing you you will fall". I did not listen to him, as you guessed it I fell. Like a careful gun owner I did not let the gun hit the rocks. I could not make it back up the cliff as I re-injured my knee. My partner made it down to me. We discussed our options and I figured we hike down hill we will find a road. After a few hours of hiking and no roads my partner wanted to have a smoke. I said no we were still hunting. He wanted to have me for lunch about then. We finally found a road, then found a hunter driving by. We flagged him down and asked where we were. As it turned out we were 67 miles of course by road, and 21 miles off course by hiking. Well we decided it would be easier to hike 21 miles then 67. So into the woods again and my partner still wants a somke and I said no we are still hunting. To finish up the story we finally found a camp that had a radio and they took us the final 7 miles out. We go ahold of our hunting group and told them where we were. This is the kicker, I am the camp cook. They asked how I was doing, when they were told I hurt me knee the next question was, "when is breakfast?".
Thanks for taking the time read my story.

Re: New Member's Story
Barley's Dad,
What about the time you couldn't figure out the Coleman stove, and you ended up burning your mustache off? Or the time you were gassing up the chainsaw and dumped gas down your crotch, giving you a chemical burn on that most sensitive of areas? :depressed: How about the time....oh well they get the idea.
