Re: Ifish 2006 trophy page
Okay, someone has to be first. And since my trophy (and it IS a trophy to me) was taken on the 1st of the year, I'll throw it up one more time.
It weighed 36lbs by the way.

Re: Ifish 2006 trophy page
That's a trophy in my book! Pretty kitty! I've only ever seen 3. All crossing the road in the dead of night. As with a bunch of critters. One of these days......................

I ran hounds with some friends for a couple years, a couple years ago. I had to go to the ODFW office and buy the furbearers license and chose between east and west for the bobcat tags. I would imagine it is still the same. I forget which was which, but either east or west was limited in the number of bobcats you could take.
p.s. Don't forget to turn in your harvest card at the end of the season, or you can't get a furbearer's license the following year.

Re: Ifish 2006 trophy page
That's an Auodad. As far as trophy's go he was a good speciman. I'm no expert or guru either but a trophy is considered over 28". This ram was 33". They also judge them by their beard and their chaps (long hair on the front legs) which is tough to see in this photo.

Re: Ifish 2006 trophy page
Also known as Barbary Sheep. They run wild in New Mexico and you can buy a tag over the counter. Super tough to hunt there from what I've been told. Native to arid mountains of Northern Africa. Nice looking ram.

Re: Ifish 2006 trophy page
I used to go goose hunting when I lived in Klamath Falls, Oregon, I liked to hunt "Willow Valley Reservoir" and used to hunt on wheat fields down there adjacent to marshes and ponds. I mainly fish now. I have never been able to prepare goose meat other than as jerky to where I enjoyed it. Any cooking tips?

Re: Ifish 2006 trophy page
This has already been a phenomenal hunting year for me, and I've still got 3 critters to get. I got my first wild hog in February in California, and filled my first ever antelope tag on opening day a few weeks ago in the Whitehorse unit with this 13 1/2 inch buck. In 3 weeks, I leave for Idaho for a trophy guided elk hunt, and then I've booked a guided hunt for Mule Deer in the Okanogan in Washington with my dad in October and drew my regular tag for the Northside Unit for elk in Oregon! Here's pics of the first two legs of my 5 critter huntin' year.

Re: Ifish 2006 trophy page
Hunted the coast for the opener. My hunting partner and I covered many a mile in the backcountry. We managed to get into some nice animals saturday evening. We put them to bed and woke to bugles. I took this young cow at 13yds. She never new what hit her. After months of preparation it all came together. My first roosie down with a bow.

Re: Ifish 2006 trophy page
I shot this 1x2 at 10 yards this weekend on the east side . clipped a main artery going in and collapsed a lung on the way out . Judging from how far he went I figure at 20mph he was alive for less than 15 sec after the arrow hit him. Weighted in at the butchers at 66lbs From here on out its willamette deer for me...

Re: Ifish 2006 trophy page
no pics for me to show but i got my deer and cow elk this weekend over east. deer was shot at 17 yds and the cow was shot at 20 yds (the cow weighted in at 411 pound clean at the meat locker). the woods were dry and a forest fire in our area that got sparked yesterday morning kept the rest of my group from getting their elk.

Re: Ifish 2006 trophy page
OK--OK Here's mine. I will try and get my buddies in too! I am leaving again in the morning to help my buddy out in the Wenaha and then I'm off to guide until the 20th and then.......the rest of the season with my Dad and Brother
Here's Dougs elk. Neither one of these were bugled in either. Kinda quite with an occasional bugle but the woods should start heating up now I will give a longer version when I return but mine was following a cow and Doug's was just thrwoing out the occasional squall and he was able to slip up on him.
