Default worst travel agent

Just a heads up to anyone traveling. I feel like I was left stranded by my agent in a foreign country. I was mad and feel they didn't give me service.

My dad and I traveled to asia, I came back on diffrent day from my ticket made all calls myself in asia since I didn't have my agents number handy. My father who returns later I asked agent for help. The agent took so long to reply back to me that all flight seats where booked up. She replied that she was busy with new clients so the three business days and weekend was needed to arrange flights for others. I was afraid of this and made all the calls and emails myself sure enough their was barely enough seats to get my dad back home. Ticket was about $1,300.00.

How would that make you guys feel, being in a foreign country? One simple call turned into multiple calls to arrange my dad's flight. I just finished off the phone and now my Dad is returning Jan 12th who is wheel chair bound, NWA agent asked me why I was doing all this and not my agent.

should I call the owner? Should I throw rotten salmon carcass into their mail box. Should I just forget it and be happy I'm home with my father? I really need some sanity before I throw the salmon carcass

I would write the owner a letter telling him/her why you won't be doing business with them any longer.

Nope, Terry was her name. Letter will be mailed. I need to call better business to get the owner. Already emailed customer contact which probably got to Terry and she just deleted it. Haven't heard a thing from the company. I only bought three tickets so let's say I will not use them no longer and am sharing my experience to those who wish not to get caught up in the same mess.

It has become so easy to book your own travel arrangements online that I don't understand the need for a travel agent. I never use a travel agent. That job has become obsolete.

HMBFisherman.... sometimes it's the only way. all the online sites at the time didn't have the exact dates I needed. Beside even if I could are you saying that because they already have my money that they didn't need care see how I returned?

You came back early and left your father over there?
How is that the travel agents fault?
Why on earth would you leave a wheel chair bound relative stranded in Asia?????
Am I missing something here? Don't mean to sound critical but you are coming down hard on this agent.

I have no idea who this agent is nor am I trying to defent her.
Lets look at the economics of this situation. New business means new money. Trying to change ticket dates means extra time and work and no new money.
Since there are different booking classes and charges perhaps she was trying to get a special fare through a wholesaler who was taking time to get back to her. Most of these agents are working like hell trying to make a living.

Have used that travel agency several times and have friends that travel the world that use them with nothing but praise.
