That awsome. You don't see one of those very often. I used to stop by there all the time we my inlaws live at the coast.
Thanks foe posting your pictures

Re: Albino Elk & More (Pics)
Sweet pics! I've been out there in the middle of march and most bulls still had thier antlers. It's amazing how fast they can grow back when they start.

Elk drop their horns pretty late in the season. They start to grow back quickly after dropping.
I passed on a partial albino doe this year with a willamette valley 600 tag. I am waiting for her to have a son.

Re: Albino Elk & More (Pics)
To the best of my knowldge there has been an albino in the herd for a while. There is a cow that must have that gene be dominant. When I hauled rock up ther a few years ago there was a 3pt that was albino like that but they never seem to get much bigger than that.
That was an awesome picture of the albino though as well as the other bulls. I might have to take my wife up there to see it and maybe stop at Camp 18 for lunch.
Thanks again Thom

Re: Albino Elk & More (Pics)
Their was a logging company that was working near the refuge in the area last year and when the crew would drive by in the morning and see a drop off antler laying out in the field, this one guy would jump our of the truck, run out in the field and grab the horn. He would sneak back up and hide in the ditch waiting for the truck to come back in a few minutes. The truck would come back and they would head on to work with a drop off. As you may know this is a big NO NO, you cant harvest antlers from the refuge.
For 2 days in a row they saw an antler and collected it. Then the third day their is a big 'ol antler laying right next to one of the sheds. The guy runs out in the field and when he grabs the antler, the door swings open and the gammie is standing there with his ticket book in hand The truck kept driving back and forth looking for the crew member so they could get on to work but they couldnt find him, he was slightly detained out in the field.
I know one of the guys on that crew and got the story from him. He said it was pretty funny with the gammie and the busted guy over by the shed watching the rest of the crew drive back and forth acting like nothing was going on while they were trying to find their missing crew member. The crew didnt see the gammie and know the guy was busted in the field. The road in the area doesnt get a lot of traffic, I am sure it looked goofy driving back and forth.
