Hunting dreams.
Last night at the supper table we (my family ) started talking about our most realistic dreams.
My wife mentioned how very often in her dreams she can fly , or live underwater. Shw described them as being so real that she is always disappointed when she wakes and realizes it was just a dream.
I never dream about flying or swiming .
In my dreams, Im always myself, and , very often they are about hunting.
The dream that I recounted to my family was a gut buster for my son . Its one of those dreams that was too realistic,,,so real that you never forget the feeling it gave you..
Here is my dream .
I have never hunted Mt Lion, but in this dream that is what Im after .
Im on a big mountain somewhere, there is a skiff of fresh snow and Lion tracks every where, but no cats . Im huntin hard and working to get up the mt. when I hear some shots. I wander through some timber toward the shots and find a family of Mexicans excitedly skinning a big cat. The entire family was there, mom, dad, grandpa, grandma, and maybe an uncle or two and about 5 small children.
They were all speaking Spanish (which I no none of ) and working the cat over . I was suprised to see that the cat only had one bullet hole in the hide and it was in the foot.
I walked up and was trying to get directions to another big cat that was farther up the mountain. After much frustration I decided that I could find the cat If I just kept hiking up. The Mexicans had pointed it out to me.
So I climb and climb and climb . Finally I end up on a very tall cliff like 600 yards straight down. Im crawling along a thin ledge when all of a sudden bolders start falling past me so fast that I can only hear them comming . Whizzz, whizzz, whizz. Im frightened to death when I realize that the bolders and rocks are being roll at me by the big cat. Others join in on the fun and soon I have several big Mt Lion, rolling rocks at me from above. I ended up sneaking off the cliff just at dark without a cat . Hi Ho. id. painter

Re: Hunting dreams.
I don't know about realistic, but I have two dreams that seem to repeat themselves.
I find myself out in the open with no clothes on, and people all around. I mean, what's that all about!!
The second dream, I'm back in college, about ready to take a final exam, and I haven't been to class all term.
both dreams leave me a bit unsettled.

Re: Hunting dreams.
I have a recurring dream that I finally draw a bighorn sheep tag in Oregon after applying since 1973. But then I wake up and realize I just had another nightmare!

Re: Hunting dreams.
Radke...at least you're not showing up in class to take the test with no clothes on! Look on the bright side!
