Convention Raffle- Looking for Prize Donations
Hi Everyone,
Rod, Skein and I are pitching in to organize the raffle.
Rod will be working with the vendors to get some big prizes, Skein will be managing ticket sales at the armory and the Elks. Thanks Jim and Rod
This years major charity is yet to be determined. We'll give a portion of the proceeds to Ifish and to the RFA.
If you'd like to donate a prize, please post your pledge here. It doesn't have to be big, just a clone or two if you like. We'll group a few of the smaller prizes together like last year. No need to send the prize, just make a pledge and bring it to the Elks before the afternoon session. Skein will have a table set up to receive the prize dontations.
To start things off, Seasquid has donated two tickets to an OSU basketball game Thanks Steve.

Thanks Roy,
I was thinking Hoggemin could donate a bunch of stuff. It would really only be a loan since he would win most of it back

Re: Convention Raffle- Looking for Prize Donations
This pile will be a single raffle item.
I might put together another matching bag.
Lets see some more donations of prizes, Hoggeman can use the equipment on his next long range trip out of SanDiego

It's not easy being a legend, is it, Mike. I wonder how many guys are going to make their families sleep in the car that weekend so they can channel the $73 motel money toward raffle tickets?

Re: Convention Raffle- Looking for Prize Donations
Last year I did 4 bags of swimbaits, + some tuna clones....so I'll do something similar again. Plus some salmon gear....like a box of 6 new Tomic plugs. So count me in for at least 5 "goodie bags."

Re: Convention Raffle- Looking for Prize Donations
glen, my husband & I would like to offer a prize for the raffle, maybe a 2 night stay at the cutest litte fishing cabin in Depoe Bay (little being the operative word) its 1 room that has sleeping, cooking, dining in a very comfy, cozy atmosphere that exclaims fishing at every turn & has all the amenities one might need-this is where we put up our "fishing friends" and it is not a rental. We have our own HR coach on the lot where we stay. Its just a couple minute walk to the docks but not a lot of room for parking (say, for a large boat??) but possibly could work something out-very quiet & a real retreat!! perfect for someone looking at a charter trip to book or just a get away with their sweetie.
Anyway-think we might have some trustworthy takers?
It has 1 queen fouton & 1 upper bunk so can sleep 2-3 & we'd be open to guests most anytime-weekdays or weekends

Re: Convention Raffle- Looking for Prize Donations
Very impressive donations!!!!!!!
We may need to hire a security guard and armored car to protect all these valuable gifts.
I am trying to come up with something and do my part, however, I can not compete at this level, but will donate what I can. How about 3 12OZ bags of gourmet coffee beans to keep some Salty Dog awake at the wheel on his way to fishin. Will coffee work for a raffle item?
(please do not take the security gaurd comment to mean that I do not trust the SD gang, because I do, with my life. It is my attempt at a humorous way of saying how valuable all the donations are.)

Re: Convention Raffle- Looking for Prize Donations
Awww, Dan, I don't think we need security guards until someone donates some gasoline.
And coffee beans work just fine, thank you. "Just a pinch between the cheek and gum...."

I have a very good buddy in the wood business, and he is willing to donate a case or two of cedar grilling planks.
They are packaged in shrink wrap, two boards each with instructions and a great recipe.

Re: Convention Raffle- Looking for Prize Donations
Hello Glen,
"Just talked to Jon, aka "Puffin". He is computer challenged these days and he asked me to contact you.
He will donate a near shore/rockpile fishing trip aboard his boat for one person to add to the raffle prize list."
This is the PM that I sent to Glen for Puffin. Who ever wins this raffle ticket is in for a great day on the ocean!
Peace, Tom
