I want to say Eugene or Ashland but that wouldn't be right.

Lots of birds along the Umpqua but it's mostly private land.

I read they are now in every county in the state, now with that said there are certain spots that produce better than others. One thing I will say is last winter me and my kids hiked into Trillium lake and there in the snow on the dam was a lone turkey track! I personally hunt a little more to the east if you know what I mean..

Check in the Oregonian on thursday and see if there is a Turkey Hunting class being held somewhere. It's that time of year.

It's like any hunting/fishing class, the person teaching it is a guide and knows where the animal populations are and the techniques to use to take them. Best thing you can do if you want to get a turkey this year.

Hey little hunter.
It was a good day and you made a great shot. If your dad & I hadn't been so busy blastin' away at teal, we woulda seen those pintails.

Sorry about the "cheap shot" (spell checker). Check my posts....I'm not much of a speller either.

About turkeys..I killed one years ago over by Dufer (sp) and I know of some land just out of Sutherlin that holds birds......Maybe we'll have to soak a kwikfish and discuss this "turkey thing".

P.S. You still need to get on the main board and tell a story!!! How about the one about your dad goin' for a "swim" at Sauvie!!!

little hunter,

I would like to hear a story too. How about when you and the black bear met face to face on the North Fork of the Siuslaw when you were 8 years old?
Maybe id.painter would like to know about how your training is going with your Brit and can help you.
Watch that spelling.

If you hunt deer or elk on the eastside, where ever, unless it's the desert go there. All of the units have birds and you already know the lay of the land.
