Interesting that you should ask.
Percentage Tags/2004 Oregon Tag Guide put out by Charlie Middleton and Pat Moran each year lists the number of raffle tickets purchased. They break it down by each different raffle.
It is really strange but in 2003 there were only about 60% of the normal tag sales. For example:
bighorn sheep 2002 = 9,913, 2003 = 5,795
Deer 2002 = 10,033, 2003 = 5,876
Depending on which one you are interested in, it ranges between 3,000 -7,000 tickets sold per hunt. Not great odds and kinda spendy. if you wanted to buy 4,000 tickets, it would cost you $10 g's and that wouldn't even guarantee you'd be picked..
That Said, I do think that there are people out there who have dropped a few thousand dollars on tickets and been drawn. I recall one guy 2 years ago who was chosen as the winner on one drawing and the runner up on another. I'm just guessing but I gotta imagine he didn't get lucky with a couple of crisp $20 bills
Good Luck!
let me know if there is a particular hunt you want to know the number of tickets on.
