David Boys. Artistic Taxidermy Portland, I have lots of mounts and all the ducks I have ever hunted and David Boys is the man hands down when it comes to waterfowl. He has done just two birds for me in the past but they are my best ones and I wish I had him do them all because he does beautiful work. The fishhog

David is very good and you can't go wrong with him. After all he did my three point Pronghorn a couple years ago that I like to brag about. However, the best bird guy in Oregon is Jim August. He wins all the bird awards at the shows. Good luck

Taxidermy is art. What you prefer and what I prefer may be completly different. The only way to find a taxidermist you like is to look at their mounts.
Congrats on the band! Pintail drakes sure are sweet lookin!!

Dave's not here-

Uhhh...The best bird taxidermist in the world is in Klamath Falls. Avian Design. Stefan Savides is a true artist and has the awards to prove it. I picked up a couple of Harlequin he mounted for a buddy (Northriver1) and I looked around his shop, WOW. He currently has 500+ mounts to do for Dick Cabela and his wife. These are personal mounts of exotic birds from Africa and such. His mounts will cost you a small fortune. He quoted me $330 to mount a Cinnamon Teal this year. I am sure it would have turned out great, but I still think it looks awesome at the $80 I paid.

I also have a pintail mounted by A-1 Taxidermy in Klamath Falls...It looks great and has since '99. I don't know why you would bash all taxidermists from Klamath, I am sure you have a good reason. It is just hard to imagine you have personal experience with all of them enough to make such a judgement!

I have three birds that were done at stefons shop. I don't belive he did any of them personaly. I also am not bashing everyone in K-Falls. I belive other people in the area sends there work over to him and some of his students may do some of the work. Two out of the three im happy with and one im not.

If you took the 150.00 bird and the over 300.00 bird ,you most likely couldn't teii the diffirence.
