SE Oregon Winterkill

I have heard some bad reports about some of central Oregon, just wondering how the SE corner doing??

I need to decide on whether or not I want to put my 9 buck points to use this year.

I'm not exactly sure how far east your definition of the "S.E. Corner" goes, but I hunted deer (Muzzleloader hunt) in the Warner Unit (north half) just before Thanksgiving and saw/heard of VERY few deer in that unit and saw only a couple of bucks, NONE (that I saw) particularly impressive!

The locals all said they had a lousy general buck season and that there were very few deer in their unit.

Of course that doesn't mean there AREN'T any there...just none that I saw.

Not that this will make it any easier, but the fish and wildlife commission was told Friday that the hardest hit areas in the state were north central region, along the east slope of the cascades in Wasco County, and far northeast, especially Wallow and Union counties...the rest of the state was snowed on heavily, but critters seemed to be weathering things...
