OK, I'll tell my story!
I think Skein is referring to the fact that I had the unique experience of calling in 4, YES FOUR coyotes all at the same time. Man, was it exciting. However, the real story, as far as I'm concerned, is the fact that as a "novice" caller, but experienced hunter, I was able to learn how to call as fast as I did. (I have Rauly and Skein to thanks for this)
Now, I suppose you want to know how I, we, did once all those coyotes presented themselves in such a FINE fashion. WELLLLL, I proceeded to miss three of the four while Skein made an absolutely awesome shot at one of my leftovers! Over a 100 yd shot, on the run, uphill, in the snow! It was unbelievable!
How could I miss you ask, how can anyone miss at 40 yds? Well trust me on this, they were "flying" by at warp speed, wouldn't stop for a bark or anything, and just kept on running.
However, the next morning, I sort of redeemed
myself with a 170 yd shot at a coyote who was standing behind a tree with a very small "window of opportunity" to shoot through. So, I felt much better about myself, and didn't have to sleep outside that night!
Great trip, better company, and plan on doing it again...soon.
