Default Westside New Years day

Went to the Westside today and I ended up being invited by a generous guy, Brandon to hunt with him on Mud lake. It started out a little rough after we got the boat and blind situated with about half of the decoys drifting off. We both had a bird down so we went after them and on a decoy rescue mission. After about a half hour........yes, I said a half hour........it was a big spread, we were back and ready to hunt. Sorry to Andy Coho and his Dad for screwing around out there while you guys were trying to hunt By the way, those guys can shoot . We had birds working well and the weather was cooperative. we ended up with a mixed bag of Six Mallards, six Widgeon and two pinnies. It was a blast hunting with Brandon. I hope to do it again soon. By the way, if you are going to launch into Mud Lake you should have four wheel drive. Someone didn't and had to have their Chevy pulled out by a Toyota.

I didn't know that was you Kris, you guys were the ones with the good shootn'. Boy you guys would leave to pick up floating deeks or dead ducks and you would still have birds working and landing in your spread. You were definately in the right spot!

We need to share a blind soon Kris!

Good job on the birds guys! You definately had a good spread over there!

Sounds good Andy. We'll have to plan it soon with only a few weeks left. Way to pound those birds today. You guys were dead on with every one I saw.
