My buddy is in Malarky this morning. Water is 4-5' higher than on Thursday. Some areas in the trees are under 14' of water. Sounds like the birds are flying, but are not working real well. He said the wind is just hammering and has managed to roll a couple of his water keel dekes.

I hunted Steelman 4 yesterday. Ended up with 2 teal and a pintail, and I hunted from shooting light to 4:00. The water in the blind was about 4 inches below the top of the waders, so I did a little bit of blind building back in the trees. Should have done better. I had birds in the decoys a couple of times that escaped, so it was definitely my fault.

Hunted Mudhen 6 yesterday and had only 2 opp. for 4 hours, some high but not like a couple of weeks ago. Birds moved south, waiting for next cold snap. Some units a boat is needed, don't waste your time.

Had a buddy on mud1 today tell me he thought it was 20 feet deep at mudlake. We'll see when I head out there tuesday with our boat.

Brett...my buddy has an 18' push pole and couldn't use it in 90% of the water. He ended up cutting off half his decoy anchor lines and doubling them up to reach the bottom. It may not be 20' but its deep!

I hit mudhen 5. Got my pinnie early and spent the rest of the hurricane watching pinnies fly by.

Well Ive got my bag of 30 hotbuys all with 20' of line on them. Hopefully were alright out there. Id expect with no rain tonight that the water may go down a little. But i doubt it.

Hey Brett,

How about the water that's coming down the Willamette? Like from Eugene?

That takes 3 days just to get HERE!
